It’s a classic. What more can one say? Sadly, in these days, it feels too real. I ordered this particular edition because I liked the size and the cover. I had not realized that it was an item that would be printed on demand for me. I love to acquire previously loved books to save trees. I will pass it along when I am finished in our local little library for others to read.

I first read this book over 30 years as a teenager for school. Now re-reading it as an Educator, the poignant protrayal of the characters, the events and the relationship dynamics are still relevant to political landscape in today's world.

Relevant to this day of how corruption can be bred when those in authority seek to take from those under them. May we all not fall for the naivety of the animals and follow blindly without asking questions.

Most reading today will come out and bludgeon you over the head with the point they are trying to make. Orwell's beautiful satire (of many things) uses an entertaining metaphor to point out absurdities in quite a few groups, ideas, and personalities. He does it in a broad and non-tribal way that is largely unseen these days... but the concepts he is parodying are as relevant today as when he wrote Animal Farm.

It appears that Orwell was a selfless man because Animal Farm reveals to mankind what most of them are too busy to notice in the world in an allegorical style. Since history repeats itself we have the knowledge to make better decisions.Reading Animal Farm is like taking a study course in history, political science, and psychology (human tendencies, greed, manipulation through deception, etc.)

I never had to read this novella as a kid, but I read it this year at 31 and have to say that George Orwell is very insightful in his use of symbolism, and this book should be required reading here in the U.S.A.

This is a cheap laser printed book, looks as if somebody is just printing booklets on their basement and selling them on Bolo. Bought it for my high schooler to complete an assignment, no copyright, no introduction, no page numbers nothing, just a cheap printout of the main text of the book, a knock-off. At least it mentions: "by George Orwell".

The last paragraph summarizes the story perfectly. The animals transformation into the one thing they solely despised is tragically ironic.
