About this item:
The Stelo Glucose Biosensor includes an applicator with an all-in-one sensor/transmitter, overpatch, and Stelo app (available on both iOS and Android). The biosensor is a small and flexible wire, which is inserted by the applicator under the skin. Stelo has an expected wear time of up to 15 days* with an extended 12-hour grace period. The transmitter is connected to the sensor and is worn on the body using the patch and overpatch. The transmitter estimates the glucose values and sends them to the Stelo app via Bluetooth. The Stelo app displays the current glucose values and the direction the glucose is heading. The information can help users make better decisions about food and activity relating to their glucose management. INDICATIONS FOR USE: The Stelo Glucose Biosensor System is an over-the-counter (OTC) integrated Continuous Glucose Monitor (iCGM) intended to continuously measure, record, analyze, and display glucose values in people 18 years and older not on insulin. The Stelo Glucose Biosensor System helps to detect normal (euglycemic) and low or high (dysglycemic) glucose levels. The Stelo Glucose Biosensor System may also help the user better understand how lifestyle and behavior modification, including diet and exercise, impact glucose excursion. The user is not intended to take medical action based on the device output without consultation with a qualified healthcare professional. CONTRAINDICATIONS: No MRI/CT/diathermy - MR unsafe. WARNINGS: Choking hazard. Don’t use if you have problematic hypoglycemia. Don’t use if you are on dialysis. Don’t ignore low/high symptoms: When your sensor readings are not consistent with your symptoms, consult your healthcare provider. DON’T CHANGE MEDICATIONS: Consult your healthcare provider before making any medication adjustments based on your sensor readings. WHERE TO STORE: You can store your sensors at room temperature or in your refrigerator, between 36 F and 86 F, but not in the freezer. *A study was conducted to assess the sensor life where 77.9% of sensors lasted the full 15 days. In other words, when using the product per the package labeling, approximately 20% of sensors may not last for the full 15 days, 10% of these sensors may last less than 12 days. †Results obtained from previous Dexcom device(s) in patients with diabetes. 1 For Stelo app compatibility information, visit stelo.com/compatibility. 2 Dexcom, data on file, 2024. 3 Stelo User Guide. 4 The Stelo biosensor is waterproof and may be submerged under eight feet of water for up to 24 hours without failure when properly installed. 1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't last and doesn't work. (Four sensors - none good)

Very motivational when it works.. That's the good news. The bad news. They aren't reliable and you may not be able to tell when they are spewing worthless/misleading readings.I bought this to track my progress at lowering blood glucose and learning about what spikes look like for me and wht causes them. I have a backup meter that I use that requires the finger-prick blood sample and I wanted a more continuous view.I had four of these devices.First one. Worked well for ten days. I periodically verified the reading with the hand-held meter and they agreed within normal parameters. But again, died on day 10.Second one. This came in a two-pack so I attempted to apply the second one. This one had a mechanical defect and would not apply.I wrote to Bolo and a replacement box was send about a week later.Third one. Worked well for 7 days and then just stopped. During that time the readings seemed to match my hand-held meter.Fourth one. I applied it and the readings were wrong from the beginning. I kept verifying, hoping that it would wake up but gave up 2 days later when it started giving such ridiculously low numbers that I contacted Stelo customer service. What a waste of time. I spent over 40 minutes giving details, after which they had me fill out forms to complain with the same data that I already gave them. Then I was informed that there would be a review process that would take days to determine if I was even eligible for replacements.I have an Android phone so I don't know how many other options I have but this is clearly not a solution.I highly recommend that you go someplace else until you stop seeing reviews like this!
5.0 out of 5 stars Very helpful
This has been a helpful tool which has helped me loose 10lbs and lower my A1C by .1 so far. I’ve worn about 8 of these and haven’t had any major failures. Some skip some readings the last few days. I do compare readings with a finger prick and it’s usually very close or with in FDA approved accuracy range. But this is more a tool for watching trends and learning what food effect you and what doesn’t and give you an idea of where your are throughout the day and night. I do prefer this one over the Lingo mainly because of the apps for this one and it will communicate fully with health apps where Lingo will only log exercise. I can also get my readings on my watch and phone Home Screen which I could not with Lingo.Cost: compare the cost of your strips if you were to test first thing in the morning, before a meal and 2 hours after for each meal. Then do the math and you will see that this costs around the same as using that many strips a day. For the strips I use, it’s actually cheaper. Plus this will give you the full picture (such as exercise drops or stress spikes), not just the glimpse the strips give. But keep in mind that you’ll still want to check highs, lows and fasting occasionally with strips.Scares of needles? ME TOO! I panic for each one but as long as you let the alcohol dry, it has been painless. Just a scary clicking noise and me releasing the breath I was holding.
4.0 out of 5 stars Stelo works great!
My first sensor worked the full 15 days. I'm on my 2nd sensor and all is good. I find that if you move around a lot during sleep or are just not mindful at anytime of day that the sensor is behind the arm, the sensor will skip/not read. So a lot of the negative reviews about this cam is user error in my opinion. For me, the sensor reads great and provided me with a a lot of insight on what to eat and not to eat that will spike my glucose level. I use this in conjunction with the Chronometer food app that my nutritionist recommended and I like it a lot. I just bought Garmin Venus 3 watch to help with automatically logging my daily activities because I want a more accurate report for all fronts to give to my doctor on my follow up appointment and see where we are at for prediabetic diagnosis and weight loss to relieve my Achilles tendonitis and foot aches I general from the rapid weight gain that is happening with me. The Cro ometer app can read the Stelo and smart watch so it's a win for Android users serious about their nutrition and health and using reports to give to doctors and getting more advice on what can be done. I eat healthy and meals are whole foods, so it's a matter of finding out what spikes the glucose levels and toning it down or eliminating the food(s) altogether. In my case I was intermittent fasting permanently for over 8 years and had a semi keto/low carb diet, well nutritionist said my body was pretty much in starvation mode and stressed out so my tissues became insulin sensitive and fat was being stored at a higher rate. Since adding more whole food carbs that my body likes, my digestive and overall feeling has been tremendous. I can't wait to bela some physical issues so that I can get back into more intense gym workouts and burn more of the fat.
