That one’s about to go back into regular use again soon, but even now, on those warm and rainy days we’ve been having, it’s already doing its job here and there. I decided to get this larger unit for the garage because I’ve been spending a lot more time there lately. I’ve essentially split my workspace between the main office and the garage, and there are days when I’m out there for hours. The garage in our new place actually has a window - which is a big plus! However, it’s not as fancy as the ones in the main house. This one’s an old, original window without the “gas” features inside, so on those warm and humid days, the humidity can creep in - as I’ve learned from experience, lol. And of course, when the humidity kicks in - especially after all this rain we’ve been having in Chicago - the garage can start to feel damp and uncomfortable. I tested this dehumidifier a couple of times on those wet days, and so far, everything looks brilliant. It works seamlessly, pulls moisture quickly, and the air noticeably improves after just a few hours. One thing I noticed right away - this thing is on the heavier side for its size (it feels like you’re removing the car battery from its compartment for the first time, and you’re surprised by how heavy it feels, even though it looks like it should be light. You know that feeling, right? Haha). I can easily lift it, but for some people, it might be a bit frustrating. Not a problem for me, but it did catch me off guard when I went to move it the first time. Luckily, it’s got wheels and a handle, so it’s not hard to roll around once it’s on the ground. I feel thrilled about the target humidity levels feature, which our previous one doesn’t have. It’s such a game-changer for me, as I can set the exact level I want and not worry about over-drying the air or the space feeling too damp. The control panel is very straightforward - easy to set the target humidity, choose a mode, or use the timer. I’ve tried both the manual drainage and the continuous drain with the hose. The hose setup is a no-brainer for a garage - I just want it to run without having to deal with emptying tanks. Noise level is decent, it hums along quietly in the background, and features like auto defrost, water full shutoff, and child lock are nice additions. I haven’t used all the modes yet, but what I’ve tried so far has worked exactly as expected. Of course, if anything goes wrong or changes, I’ll make sure to post an update here. But as of today, there’s nothing to complain about - undoubtedly 5 stars.Hope someone will find my review helpful!

I bought this Dehumidifier to see if it would help dry out the dirt portion of our basement. We got a lot of rain this past winter and we had quite a bit of water seip under the foundation. This machine was very well packaged and easy to set up. I think the hardest thing I had to do was let it sit upright in the box for 24 hours so that all the oil would settle back down into the motor after having been on its side during shipping. Having never used a dehumidifier before, I would have liked the directions to be a little more explicit, but they were adequate. At first I didn't use the continuous drain because I wanted to see if it worked. Boy, did it ever. We put it on dry mode and the little container would fill up about every 6 to 8 hours. I would empty the water on my outside plants. That got old pretty fast so I hooked up the continuous drain hose. We had quite a distance to drain out from under the house, so we hooked the hose that came with the machine into a long piece of drip line. At first it kept shutting off when the container got full. Everything with the hose hookup looked good. There was no kinks and everything was going in a down direction, so I thought maybe the machine wasn't exactly level. I turned the machine a quarter of a turn so that the back of it was facing the downward slope and left it till the next morning. It's been running continously ever since. I won't know how much it will help to do the job I want it to, but I do know it's definitely pulling water out of somewhere and some of the dirt does appear to be a little dryer. I'm sure it's going to take some time. As far as customer support goes, this company really seems to want the buyer to be very satisfied. So far, this buyer would definitely recommend this dehumidifier.
