The instruction manual is well thought out, thorough, and very detailed. It serves as an instruction manual for assembling the kit and provides directions on coding but also includes some commic like pages and informational pages about chameleons too. The manual says you will need to have 4 AAA batteries on hand and gives advice on what tools to use to use to remove the plastic parts from the frames and small screw driver to assemble some parts. Very impressed with the quality and level of detail of the manual. Would make an excellent gift. We already have other Thames and Kosmos stem kits and enjoyed putting them together so I know we are getting a quality product with this kit as well. The company also has videos online to help you assemble this particular kit and with any troubleshooting needs, which is very helpful.

This coding chameleon was a huge hit in our house! The kit is well packaged and comes with clear instructions, making assembly manageable for an 5 year old with a bit of adult help. Once built, the robot’s three play modes, Coding, Wild, and Pet are incredibly engaging and educational.Our favorite part is watching the chameleon change color as it moves over different cards and surfaces.It’s screen free, which I love, but still offers hours of entertainment while teaching real programming logic. Perfect for any budding engineer or tech loving kid. Highly recommend for birthdays or educational play!

I got the Coding Chameleon STEM Building & Experiment Kit for my 8-year-old. It is popular in our house. This kit has building, coding, and creative play. I like that it is educational and fun. It is a fun challenge. It is exciting to see it move and react in different play modes. The three play modes are great. One mode is for color recognition. Another mode is for following paths. The last mode is for open-ended exploration. Each mode teaches new ideas and keeps kids engaged.The parts are high quality. Everything feels sturdy, and the chameleon moves smoothly. The kit encourages experimenting and changing the build. This makes kids want to play again.This is one of the best STEM kits we tried. It is screen-free and very entertaining. parents that want meaningful learning activities for their kids.
