With the tendency of most products using trick photography to make them look bigger, I was expecting something about the size of a smallish mouse pad. But wow, this was the opposite. This thing is a lot bigger than what it looks like in the pics. I know the dimensions were included but I guess that didn’t register. So I am thrilled. It will easily hold 4 large Petri dishes with its table being over 14 inches per side.Operation is simple. Just turn on the power switch, click through your parameters and rotate the knob when ready to adjust time or speed. When ready to kick it off, push the know for 3 seconds. It’s also adjustable while running. It will shake anywhere from 40RPM to 300PM. Note this is a linear shaker, so side to side only. For a few more dollars. You can also get one that has a rotational motion.Included are of course the shaker itself, power supply, silicone mat, elastic bands that lock in place on the table to stabilize your samples, and surprising detailed and well written instructions.I am very happy with my order so far. We’ll see how it holds up though, it’s a pretty simple design so I can’t imagine anything major breaking early on. If I had one thing I’d change, I’d of probably ordered the rotational version instead of the linear but it’s not that big of a deal. It works well, whether you want a gentle shake or a vigorous slosh, this will do the trick.

The media could not be loaded. Picked this up for home lab use and couldn’t be happier with it. I’m using it for liquid cultures, plate agitation, and other mycology applications where consistent, low-impact motion is key. For around $100, it’s an incredibly solid piece of gear and a great entry point for anyone building out a lab setup without dropping commercial-level cash.It’s larger than I expected (first-time shaker buyer here), but it fits beautifully into my workspace. The platform feels sturdy, the top coating handles moisture without issue, and the operation is smooth. I’ve been running it daily since it arrived (directly out of the box and into the flow); gentle, consistent agitation is critical for LC growth and plate prep, and this thing handles it with ease. I love being able to adjust the RPMs on-the-fly without interrupting the timer.Setup was fast: plug it in, set time and RPM with the single knob, and you’re off. The straps it comes with, which are basically oversized rubber band-like hair ties, are functional and hold things down well if you’re running higher RPMs. For most of my use cases, I haven’t needed them, but they’re a handy backup.It’s not whisper quiet, but it’s not disruptive either and at this price, I’m far more concerned with performance than sound. So far, it’s been flawless. Feels durable, looks clean on the bench, and performs exactly as described. Excellent buy for anyone doing fungal culture work, media prep, or any light lab application that benefits from lateral shaking.

This is a great product with a ton of uses outside of the actual lab environment. I am using it for many different applications including but not limited to agar petri dish creation, paint mixing, ejuice mixing, and gentle mixing of spore syringes. The adjustable rotation is very smooth and allows you to get down to low rotations without skipping or jerking around. Its very quiet when operating and basically silent. The deck is big enough to handle larger items and the weight limit is generous. I think this is a great option for home applications personally. I suspect it would also be very useful in a lab. The price is very reasonable considering the quality of the product you receive. No assembly required and it works right out of the box.
