Just right for an extended trip overseas
Bought this backpack for a 15 day international trip to be used in conjunction with a small carryon bag. It more than met my needs for all items I would need in a hurry, e.g. passport, travel documents, meds, water bottle, snacks, jacket, etc. I literally took it on planes, buses, trains and cars and it was perfect. Fit well under plane seats and in overhead bins on trains and buses. Well made, durable, functional and comfortable. I did use the expandable function a time or two and that was really helpful. The price was right and Osprey is the only pack or bag I consider when buying.
Excellent travel backpack – versatile and comfortable
This is an excellent travel backpack. The expandable design is a great feature and gives you extra space when needed, but still stays compact enough to use as a personal item. It’s perfect for travel, day trips, or everyday use.The build quality is outstanding, which is what I expect from Osprey. The materials feel durable, and the zippers and stitching are solid. It’s also very comfortable to wear, even when fully loaded, thanks to the padded straps and smart design.I really like how organized everything is, with plenty of compartments to keep things easy to access. The color looks great in person as well.Overall, this is a high-quality, well-designed backpack and definitely worth it. Highly recommend.
Very versitile
This pack, just like my other 3 Osprey packs, are high quality and well-thought out. I put in an extra pair of shoes, 4 shirts, 2 pants, 3 socks, a dress, toiletry bag, water bottle & TSA clear liquids bag and still had plenty of room to spare for electronics -without expanding to the + 6 size. My goal for overseas travel is 26 liter personal carry and wear the sweatshirt and rain jacket. Then I can expand to carry them and any extras if needed. Wonderful addition to my travel collection. Straps are fine because I am traveling light. I appreciate the size as I am 5'4" and it does not look huge, and fits my frame nicely. Clamshell opening is appreciated. Would like the outer pocket and "pen pocket" to be larger but I can work around that by putting my airline essentials bag at the top (gun, ear buds, snack, lotion).

Really like this backpack. The design is very smart. You can slide it over your carry-on luggage handle, which makes airport travel super easy, or just wear it comfortably on your back. The straps feel solid and well balanced.The zippers are high quality and smooth, and I really like the locking mechanisms — feels secure, especially when traveling.It’s very practical inside. Plenty of space for a laptop, chargers, documents, clothes, and all the other stuff you end up carrying. The expandable feature is a big plus when you need extra room.Overall, great build quality, comfortable, and perfect for travel. Highly recommend.
Awesome Travel Backpack !!
I love this backpack. Just the right amount of storage pockets placed in the right areas. It worked perfect as a carry on for my cruise. You can get an extra 2 inches of depth if you need it. Thoughtfully, Osprey made a dedicated zipper to access the laptop/Ipad sleeve when the pack is packed out. This pack is really light when empty which I like. Overall the pack is well constructed with quality materials. I will definitely be using it as a personal carry on when flying. I checked the size and it is accepted by all the domestic American airlines.
Very good travel backpack
Great backpack. I was able to use this with my carryon luggage to pack enough for a 9 day trip using the expandable feature. Pockets are great and functional. I would have given 5 stars but a little pricey
Perfect personal-item bag for flying
LOVE! I like to travel (fly) without checking any bags and this backpack is essential for me. It opens up clamshell-style like a suitcase so all my stuff pack up easily. The default “size” is roomy but not too big, and when you need more space the bag zips to expand so you can fit more stuff in. Still fits under seat on plane as personal item, so a separate carry-on bag can be put above the seat. The padding on the straps and back of the bag is firm but cushioned. I got the solid gray color so it’s perfect for all styles. The quality is impressive. Overall for the price I couldn’t be happier.
Works great for both travel and edc
I mainly use this backpack for commuting by car to and from work and for occasional travel here and there. It works wonderfully for this imo. Yes there are some trade offs compared to just getting a dedicated commuter pack and a separate travel bag. For example, less organization, not much padding for the laptop compartment, sideways opening can be a little awkward, etc. But those are all things I can live with for the value and versatility of an extendable bag like this. The bag is very high quality and durable for the price, nice zippers, very spacious especially when extended, lifetime warranty, etc etc. The black color is also quite nice looking and sleek enough for my tastes And the sideways opening is easily a nonissue if you just keep the zippers up top and treat it like a top loader when not packing it out.Tldr: $100 is a steal for a bag of this quality imo and it's no wonder it's regularly out of stock. Highly recommend if you can get your hands on it.
