I don't pre-wash; just scrape and put into the dishwasher. The come out sparkling and without residue.Our dishwasher is 13 years old this year and still doing a great job. I credit this brand of cleaner pods as a big part of the reason. The interior of the dishwasher itself looks clean after a cycle - no build-up, either. The scent is fresh and clean. It's very simple to pop in a pod and run a load of dishes.

While it doesn't linger on the dishes, it's noticeable when opening the dishwasher. It's not unpleasant, but if you're sensitive to fragrances, it might be something to consider.The pods dissolve completely during the wash cycle, and I haven't encountered any residue issues. They're convenient to use,just pop one into the dispenser, and you're good to go.Overall, these pods are a solid choice for efficient cleaning. Cascade Platinum Plus Dishwasher Pods, Dishwasher Detergent, Dish Detergent Soap, Fresh, 47 Count really get your dishes squeaky clean and spotless. It's so easy to pop a pod in and let it do the dirty work....literally! I haven't had to pre rinse the dishes and everything comes out clean even when the dishwasher is fully loaded. Even the greasy dishes are clean and shiny! The scent of the pods in the container is very strong but it doesn't linger on your dishes after they have been washed. The pod dissolved completely and there wasn't a speck of soap residue left on any of my dishes. Worth every penny!
