I found the basmati rice to be good quality.The mix contains small pieces of turmeric. This is important because depending on the sophistication of your rice cooker, it has the potential to burn any particles which are stuck on the bottom of the pot. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but might give a slightly bitter taste to the rice. (The Zojirushi had no problems, but our older rice cooker did. We are too lazy to cook rice on the stove in my home.)The rice itself is a vibrant yellow and is appealing. After cooking the color was even more vibrant. As far as taste, the turmeric imparted only a very slight taste - which is to be expected.Basmati rice is especially good served with curry. When paired with a chicken tikka masala and a side of moong daal, the rice added a lovely splash of color that plain white rice would not.

The Pride of India Extra Long Basmati Rice with Minced Turmeric is very easy to make. I prepared a batch on my stovetop, but microwave instructions are included on the container as well. The turmeric rice has a great smell and makes very tender and tasty rice. I added some salt, butter, peas and additional spices to the rice and it made a great tasting meal. I really like the nice aroma the rice has while it is cooking. Very wholesome smelling. Additionally, I like the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of curcumin, which is a natural compound in turmeric. While the 24 ounce container looks small, it can make for many meals as the rice greatly expands while cooking. Delightful rice!

You get a 24 oz tub of basmati rice. This tub of basmati rice has minced turmeric added. Turmeric is an essential in Indian cuisine. It gives the rice it's yellow color. It is also good for the health. I cooked some rice to complement my curry. The rice is soft and slightly fluffy ... not as fluffy as white rice. Not a lot of fragrance. Tasted only a tad spicy ... hardly noticeable. But the earthy herbal taste of turmeric is present. Went very well with the curry I cooked. Overall, a decent tub of basmati rice.

If you like basmati rice and you like turmeric, you will like this rice. It is not especially flavorful, but definitely tastes like turmeric. The color and texture are nice; the minced turmeric wasn't so large as to be overpowering. It came out fine when cooked according to the instructions on the packaging (the rice to water ratio should be a bit bigger, in my opinion, but otherwise it's clear). Note that there's not a time instruction for cooking, so you'll have to keep a closer eye on it to notice when the water reduces.

Lovely quality rice! Mild turmeric flavor, great golden color. Nice long grains, even by Basmati standards. Just a touch of bitterness from the turmeric. Good enough to eat by itself!I cooked up a 2 cup batch in a rice cooker as I normally would for white rice. Although I would normally rinse, and indeed the instructions say to do so, I wanted to capture the maximum turmeric so did not. It came out light and fluffy. Would probably have been even fluffier if rinsed and there's plenty of turmeric pieces in here so will probably do that next time.A nice screw-cap container to keep it fresh, though that initial 2 cup batch was nearly half the tub so this won't last long!

I looked up online a chicken recipe with basmati rice and just one recipe came up! And it had OUTSTANDING REVIEWS! So, I followed the recipe to the T except that I doubled the amount of spices added because my husband and I like tons of flavor!🤩 I also did not rinse the basmati rice here because I wanted all that delicious flavor too!🎉The dish ended up OUTSTANDING. I have saved the recipe and will be making it again and again. And if you want to look it up, it’s easy to find because it’s the only one.😂Oh! But I did make the mistake of at first mixing it with my hands and my hands got very yellow so I don’t recommend that!🤣The thing that I really appreciated about this basmati rice and using it in the recipe that I got online, is that it did not taste like something common. It has (I made enough that we will be having it again tomorrow and I am looking forward to that!) a uniqueness to it that is, and was delicious! It is interesting because I don’t typically like turmeric much but in this case with it mixed with so many flavors, it just works.And in getting this large container, I have enough to last us for awhile so it’s a good deal.Hope this helped in some way. This long grain basmati rice with turmeric is good quality and tasty. I typically rinse my rice and I did so with this and it still retained a lot of the tumeric color as well as aroma.It has the lovely basmati aromatics plus a bit of extra from the turmeric.It's a bit on the expensive side for rice, but the quality is good.

I made this in my normal rice cooker and had no issues, it came out great. I wasn't sure if it had salt in it as I didn't see it in the ingredients list and typically add salt to my rice- so I decided to add some, but found it really doesn't need it. Good flavor and nicely textured long grain rice.
