I recently picked up this barber razor, and I’m seriously impressed. The build quality is outstanding—solid, well-balanced, and feels great in the hand. The blade glides smoothly across the skin, giving a super close shave without any tugging or irritation.

For context - I need a very specific razor and specific conditions for the blade for me to have a good shave.This is my first straight razor, the last time I was at the barbers I did not enjoy that shave with a straight razor. This was a much better shave, with caveats. I have to use a slant razor for a comfortable shave, other razor angles tend to tug on my beard. Compared to my safety razor (merkur slant), this is extremely light, which was an issue as I am used to just letting the weight of the razor do a lot of the work. The blade felt a bit off though (kind of flimsy), it was very sharp, but it felt off on my face. I needed the same sharpness but the blade needed to be sturdier.I had a huge issue inserting the blade, I just could not get the point/face/edge whatever it's called to open, I had to check Youtube because I thought I was doing something wrong. I understand why it might be like that, but I don’t feel super confident doing that when a blade is inserted, also it's my first time using a straight razor, so I was nervous. Anyways, I used those non-cutting gloves, just in case, when I was removing the blade.I had an extremely difficult time when it came to shaving around the jaw, I have a very distinctive jaw-line, and eventually I gave up and went back to my safety razor, it was just taking too long. I will try again because I didn’t have any discomfort when I applied Alum, I do need to develop more skills to be able to use a straight razor properly. I had a difficult shave, but it was not a bad shave.Finally, it is cheap, and it feels cheap, in no way any part of this razor feels anything other than cheap. The issues I mentioned, I assume are attributed to that but I can use it for learning purposes so it has a purpose. At the time of writing this review the price is $4.99 so three stars, only because of how cheap it is, if it was any more expensive I would give it two stars.
