For the price of this I think the quality is very very good. The sound for a small CD play is very good and I haven's had a problem with the remove. I have not used the radio yet.

I had problems with FM reception even after installed an aftermarket antenna with a 10' lead and a stick on "T" I stuck to a window pane. That made it more acceptable but the reception still wasn't real clean.The dealbreaker though for me is it has no output. Even a headphone port would do for outputting to a premium decorator speaker I have. It was my error. I'm not a serious music listened anymore but I play a public station I like for 8 hours of news and talk with the rest being less familiar music. I get turned onto stuff I really like here and there and subscribe to the artist's channel to check out more - keeps my musical growth growing.The stock speakers are neither as good as the stellar reviews make out nor as bad as the bummer reviews claim imo. It's fine for casual listening like I do these days but this is not a high-end or audiophile system. I liked the looks and wanted no more than a tuner and a Cd player in a compact unit. I didn't even care if it had speakers but I could not find anything that didn't. I did assume I could bypass them and use another speaker - my error.The operation is a little idiosynchratic. You have to learn to push the buttons slow or fast depending on the operation and sometimes more than a tap so it seemed like there were 3 required length of remote button pressing to learn. Setting the clock was not intuitive with the remote so I finally read the instruction pamphlet.

I found the Soundbeast radio/cd player a beautiful addition to my study/office. But, it does not deliver the quality audio I had expected; it is overly difficult to play; instructions were not helpful. I could not recommend this item to anyone else. Sorry, it just does not measure up in functionality.
