Took advantage of Prime week and snagged this baby for $399. It works like a charm! So far I’ve had it for a solid week with no issues. Suction is strong without being too loud. The mop gets the floor immaculate without overly saturating. The clean water tank holds a good amount of fluid to last a solid amount of time depending on how much surface it needs to cover. Always amazed at how much dirt this thing pulls with every cycle. Even though we are religious about not using shoes in the house. It’s crazy. Connects so easily with your WiFi. The Roomba app works flawlessly between vacuum and mop cycles. If you chose that cycle it is able to sense which area is carpet vs hard surface and knows it stop the mopping feature on the carpet. I tried the Roborock Q7 and was not pleased. The suction was very weak and did not clean the floors very well. The mop feature was also not great. It barely sprayed a couple inches from the front of the vacuum, and it was not able to lift much dirt either so I returned it. I’ve had a plain roomba vacuum in the past and was pleased with it. So when this finally dropped in price it was a no brainer! I also purchased the insurance since these things work hard sometimes parts need replacing so it’s definitely worth it!

Like many of the other unhappy reviewers, my robot is ridiculous. Out of the box was easy, setup was easy, first mapping of my house was easy. Then I started cleaning. It cannot handle throw rugs -- like ever. My other robot vac before this was smart enough to just -- ya know -- clean them. This one, it cannot. Fine, I say, I'll toss the area rugs on the patio while the robot is cleaning. The mopping seemed worlds better than my old vac/mop. Unlike my other vac/mop, this one just has two rotating pads that it goes to the station to get wet, and then after 50, 100, or 150 sq ft (you set it up in the app) it will go back and clean the pads. This honestly seems to work fine. But after day 1, it couldn't connect to the app. I started with the chat customer service - and then got disconnected by them for 5 min of inactivity -- while we were waiting for the vacuum to do something. With no way to get back in touch with that helper, I decided to call the toll free customer service line. Waited on hold for 30 minutes, then got someone who helped me for about 30 minutes. Had to do TWO factory resets. It continued to do odd things ("Push and hold the home button" "It started driving around while I'm doing that. I'm still holding it." "Hmm. That's odd." YES IT IS!). We did a map of just one room in my house to make sure it was working properly again. It was successful, in that it mapped one room and began vacuuming it while I was on the phone with him. He had me delete that map and then instructed me to just create a new map of the house. Started that process and then he called the ticket closed. But oh, no sir, it is not closed. After creating the map of the house, it says to check it in the app. Guess what? It still doesn't want to connect to my stupid app. Reset again. Mapped the house again. Failed again. Called customer service again. 30 minute wait again. Then he says the ticket needs to be escalated to the next level of support and they would get back to me within 24 hours. It's been over 48 hours and still nothing. Today, for fun, I factory reset it again. Success. I mapped the house. Success. I said, ok go clean. And then it stopped communicating with the app. App has no idea where it is, what it's doing. It's sitting on the stinking dock and the app is like, you might need to factory reset. I'm done with it. It drags the mop across the carpet -- doesn't lift the pads high enough. It gets tangled on everything (another reviewer said it seeks them out to eat them and I don't disagree). It actually got tangled up in a sandal. A freaking SANDAL. Like, how about you avoid the shoes?! And it eats the throw rugs. Every time. The vacuuming was sub-par. All along the area rug (the entire house flooring is tile, and we have area rugs and throw rugs throughout), there was a line of dirt. Last big thing for me, is the amount of hair that gets stuck in the main roller. My bot was making hecka racket, so I went to check the rollers. Sure enough there's a ton of dirt that's just hanging out, not getting sucked away. I pull out the roller to clean and the hair is wrapped up *under* the little green rubber roller. It's impossible to get out. And I agree with other reviewers - it's noisy. My other vac/mop is quieter and it's 10 years older. This is such a failure even at 50% off prime day savings, I would never recommend. It's going back.

As a busy home of 6 individuals and a doggie in Florida this is an absolute life and time saver.Straight out of package had it map out our home 5/3 with home office. Set schedule for each room and schedule cleanings. This unit alone has given me back 6 hours of my week plus.Dump dirty water bin after each cleaning and ensure it has fresh water in the tank for next cycle. Empty dust bin about twice a week. If we have a mess hit it to spot deep clean. I do a deep cleaning myself once a month, but water has never come out overly dirty. We always have sand in our home.Great value for the price point due to gaining so much more than mopping floors daily myself. Made a good quality it has not scratched out baseboards or any of the vintage furniture we have.The ability and sensitivity of the unit to be able to tell between throw rugs, room rugs and tile is streamless. Would definitely recommend just for piece of mind and to gain back time.

Easy assembly. I’m not sure what I was expecting. I am fascinated by the technology. It mapped my house and with each pass it learned a little more.I felt like the instructions weren’t clear on how to actually start it.The app is a learning curve.The suction is great and the mopping feature is outstanding.We have a dog and it picked up the dog hair without issue.We have a 1200 sq ft area that we use it in. The room a needed to go back to charge and empty it’s dirt tank and refill water a few times but it seems to have the capacity to handle the job.Overall while it’s working it’s not too noisy but when it goes to the docking station and extracts the dirt, it’s pretty loud. The noise is why I give it 4 stars.Overall great vacuum. Floors look great. We purchased it on sale and we are happy with it.

This is my first automatic vacuum or mop and I’m in love! It came very quickly and I was impressed with the packaging. Everything was organized well in the box, the set-up instructions were clear and easy to read, and I had it all set up in about ten minutes. Once I got used to the app, the mapping of my house was easy. Most importantly, it works GREAT! I have big dogs and they are known to track dirt and mud in through the doggy door. This handles it like a champ! I can’t believe how much time this will save me. I was worried it would get stuck or confused since my house has some smaller rooms, but it’s done great so far! I like that I can designate certain areas for it to stay out of, and I’m impressed at the self-cleaning features. The mop pads on the bottom stay clean and work well. As a busy mom, I would recommend this to anyone who wants to save time while keeping the house clean!

Over the years, I have used many different robotic vacuums. I am always an early adopter of new technology, and the first Robotic vacuum I ever had was a Roomba. I was excited to try one of their newer robotic vacuums and mop machines.This combo robot vacuum and mop machine arrived very well-boxed. It comes with the main vacuum, a docking station, a power cable, a pair of mop heads with an extra pair of pads, and a corner brush.The only assembly required is pushing on the mop brushes and the spinning brush. You also have to put the ramp on the docking station and plug the docking station in.There is a QR code that you use to install the Roomba app on your phone.Everything goes together very easily.The dock comes with a clean water and dirty water reservoir, which are used to clean and moisten the robot's mop pads. The robot also uses a dust bag when it empties its dust bin. An extra dust bag is included. These are disposable but easily cleaned for multiple uses.From the app, you get the user manual, and it walks you through the setup.The first thing you need to do is create a map of the area. This is very fast, and it mapped the whole area I wanted to use in less than 10 minutes. This robot uses lidar, which is a huge improvement over past Roomba robots. It was very accurate and easily mapped around an island in the kitchen.I wanted to set the vacuum/mop in an area that has a vinyl floor with multiple throw rugs of different thicknesses on it. I knew this would present a challenge for the robot since I wanted it to mop and vacuum the floors and only vacuum the carpet.There are options to vacuum only, mop only, vacuum then mop, and vacuum and mop. I wanted to try the vacuum and mop option to see how well this vacuum detects carpets, and figured this is the faster option for vacuuming and mopping.You can select each room and tell the robot whether you want a deep or normal clean. You can also select the intensity of the suction, as well as if you want to do 1 or 2 passes of cleaning.After you make your selections, you start the robot. The robot announces each of the steps it is going through, which is very nice. The voice is clear and easy to understand.So, it was not time for the big test.I started the vacuum and mop mode and was very fascinated watching how the robot would sense the carpet and raise and stop the mop pads and only vacuum. It did this perfectly even on some very thin carpets.The robot would periodically go back to the docking station, clean the mop pads, and put fresh water on them.I was very impressed with the job that the robot did. It vacuumed the carpets nicely and vacuumed and mopped the hard floors very well.Once finished, the robot went into the docking station, cleaned the pads, and then dried them.It seems to use air to dry the pads, but I do not believe it is heated.I am very happy with this robot. It is one of the best I have ever used and works exactly as it should.The app is decent and one of the better apps I have used.I love the carpet sensing feature since it does not require me to set up any mop zones and is totally automatic. It cleaned perfectly a room with a combination of hard floors and carpets.The water reservoirs are easy to open and clean. You can use detergent in the clean water bin, but I only used water. Roomba recommends only certain cleaners to be used in the docking station.I do recommend this Roomba vacuum and mop combination.
Best floor cleaning helper ever!
The media could not be loaded. I absolutely love my new Roomba! Best floor-cleaning helper ever!I bought this Roomba to help with the chore I like the least – mopping. First, I did a little research, and I decided to spend a little more on this model because I liked the spinning mop pads, figuring they would do a better job scrubbing my floors to my satisfaction. Plus, the auto-washing base is magical and a must-have. It takes care of refreshing the mop pads while it’s cleaning so it’s not continually mopping with gross, dirty pads. And when it’s all done, it will wash and dry them too! No need for me to do it! The base also runs a self-cleaning cycle, that way it doesn’t get musky or mildewy. It’s pretty much a hands-free system. All I do is fill the water tank when needed and empty the dirty when it gets full. Easy-peasy.I can set up a cleaning schedule, but mostly I just start cleaning from the app, or use voice commands. I found everything very easy to set up. It literally mapped my home in minutes and was ready to go!Overall, I’m very impressed with how well it cleans. The vacuum takes care of all those little fluffies and hairs and little bits on the day-to-day. It automatically boosts power on the carpet by my entrance and will lift the pads in the back, so nothing gets wet. The robot will also empty itself into the base for months before I’ll need to worry about removing the bag.The only hiccups I’ve had were when it sucked up my bathmat and got stuck. I got an alert on the app. I know now that it’s too light and I’ll need to put it up from now on. It also got too close to some power cords under my entertainment unit. However, the app lets you create Keep Out zones, so once I placed one over the area I wanted it to stay out, and haven’t had any problems since.Roomba saves me so much time fussing with my floors. It’s only been a short time but I’m very pleased with the performance. When I come home it feels fresh and clean. It’s a relief to not worry about running a vacuum or dragging out the mop because it’s already taken care of.

It worked excellent right out of the box. Mapped out my place perfectly, then cleaned it no problem.I tried to run a routine later the same day because of some mess that could be mopped up and it stopped working properly already. It will be in a totally clear space and claim that the bumpers are stuck.
Better than my j series model
Firstly, the performance of the 405 is truly impressive. It does a fantastic job of picking up everything on both my floors and carpets. The suction power is noticeably stronger than the j series, which is a big plus. Additionally, the new rotating mopping pads are excellent at tackling stains and leave my floors with a beautiful shine. Navigation is also amazingly great, new lidar is a big change but if you have small objects laying around or a lot of wires around go with the 505 instead.The base of the 405 is another highlight. It not only allows the robot to operate autonomously for days but also self-cleans, eliminating the need for frequent maintenance. This is a significant plus over other brands, where you need to clean the mopping pad system often.However, there is one aspect I'm not entirely sold on – the refresh system for the mopping pads. Since there is no water tank on the actual robot, you have to decide via the app how many square feet the robot will clean before returning to the base to refresh the pads and self-clean. This process takes a bit more time, especially if you have a large area to cover. But I do see the advantage of this system, as it prevents spreading filth around, which can happen with models that have a water tank directly on the robot.Lastly, the app has its pros and cons. While it offers some great features, there is definitely room for improvement. I'm hopeful that we'll see some updates and enhancements to it in the near future.All in all, for the price, the 405 is a strong 5-star product. It offers great performance, a low noise level compared to the j series and requires minimal maintenance.

These are disposable but easily cleaned for multiple uses.From the app, you get the user manual, and it walks you through the setup.The first thing you need to do is create a map of the area. This is very fast, and it mapped the whole area I wanted to use in less than 10 minutes. This robot uses lidar, which is a huge improvement over past Roomba robots. It was very accurate and easily mapped around an island in the kitchen.I wanted to set the vacuum/mop in an area that has a vinyl floor with multiple throw rugs of different thicknesses on it. I knew this would present a challenge for the robot since I wanted it to mop and vacuum the floors and only vacuum the carpet.There are options to vacuum only, mop only, vacuum then mop, and vacuum and mop. I wanted to try the vacuum and mop option to see how well this vacuum detects carpets, and figured this is the faster option for vacuuming and mopping.You can select each room and tell the robot whether you want a deep or normal clean. You can also select the intensity of the suction, as well as if you want to do 1 or 2 passes of cleaning.After you make your selections, you start the robot. The robot announces each of the steps it is going through, which is very nice. The voice is clear and easy to understand.So, it was not time for the big test.I started the vacuum and mop mode and was very fascinated watching how the robot would sense the carpet and raise and stop the mop pads and only vacuum. It did this perfectly even on some very thin carpets.The robot would periodically go back to the docking station, clean the mop pads, and put fresh water on them.I was very impressed with the job that the robot did. It vacuumed the carpets nicely and vacuumed and mopped the hard floors very well.Once finished, the robot went into the docking station, cleaned the pads, and then dried them.It seems to use air to dry the pads, but I do not believe it is heated.I am very happy with this robot. It is one of the best I have ever used and works exactly as it should.The app is decent and one of the better apps I have used.I love the carpet sensing feature since it does not require me to set up any mop zones and is totally automatic. It cleaned perfectly a room with a combination of hard floors and carpets.The water reservoirs are easy to open and clean. You can use detergent in the clean water bin, but I only used water. Roomba recommends only certain cleaners to be used in the docking station.I do recommend this Roomba vacuum and mop combination.

The media could not be loaded. I absolutely love my new Roomba! Best floor-cleaning helper ever!I bought this Roomba to help with the chore I like the least – mopping. First, I did a little research, and I decided to spend a little more on this model because I liked the spinning mop pads, figuring they would do a better job scrubbing my floors to my satisfaction. Plus, the auto-washing base is magical and a must-have. It takes care of refreshing the mop pads while it’s cleaning so it’s not continually mopping with gross, dirty pads. And when it’s all done, it will wash and dry them too! No need for me to do it! The base also runs a self-cleaning cycle, that way it doesn’t get musky or mildewy. It’s pretty much a hands-free system. All I do is fill the water tank when needed and empty the dirty when it gets full. Easy-peasy.I can set up a cleaning schedule, but mostly I just start cleaning from the app, or use voice commands. I found everything very easy to set up. It literally mapped my home in minutes and was ready to go!Overall, I’m very impressed with how well it cleans. The vacuum takes care of all those little fluffies and hairs and little bits on the day-to-day. It automatically boosts power on the carpet by my entrance and will lift the pads in the back, so nothing gets wet. The robot will also empty itself into the base for months before I’ll need to worry about removing the bag.The only hiccups I’ve had were when it sucked up my bathmat and got stuck. I got an alert on the app. I know now that it’s too light and I’ll need to put it up from now on. It also got too close to some power cords under my entertainment unit. However, the app lets you create Keep Out zones, so once I placed one over the area I wanted it to stay out, and haven’t had any problems since.Roomba saves me so much time fussing with my floors. It’s only been a short time but I’m very pleased with the performance. When I come home it feels fresh and clean. It’s a relief to not worry about running a vacuum or dragging out the mop because it’s already taken care of.

It worked excellent right out of the box. Mapped out my place perfectly, then cleaned it no problem.I tried to run a routine later the same day because of some mess that could be mopped up and it stopped working properly already. It will be in a totally clear space and claim that the bumpers are stuck.
Better than my j series model
Firstly, the performance of the 405 is truly impressive. It does a fantastic job of picking up everything on both my floors and carpets. The suction power is noticeably stronger than the j series, which is a big plus. Additionally, the new rotating mopping pads are excellent at tackling stains and leave my floors with a beautiful shine. Navigation is also amazingly great, new lidar is a big change but if you have small objects laying around or a lot of wires around go with the 505 instead.The base of the 405 is another highlight. It not only allows the robot to operate autonomously for days but also self-cleans, eliminating the need for frequent maintenance. This is a significant plus over other brands, where you need to clean the mopping pad system often.However, there is one aspect I'm not entirely sold on – the refresh system for the mopping pads. Since there is no water tank on the actual robot, you have to decide via the app how many square feet the robot will clean before returning to the base to refresh the pads and self-clean. This process takes a bit more time, especially if you have a large area to cover. But I do see the advantage of this system, as it prevents spreading filth around, which can happen with models that have a water tank directly on the robot.Lastly, the app has its pros and cons. While it offers some great features, there is definitely room for improvement. I'm hopeful that we'll see some updates and enhancements to it in the near future.All in all, for the price, the 405 is a strong 5-star product. It offers great performance, a low noise level compared to the j series and requires minimal maintenance.
