If you're looking for an all in one OBD2 scanner that delivers top tier functionality without the headache of subscriptions, the KINGBOLEN Ediag Elite is a MUST HAVE! I’ve tested a lot of scanners, but this one stands out. First off, the lifetime updates are a game changer. No need to worry about paying for updates down the road. This tool keeps getting better, ensuring you're always equipped with the latest features. The AutoAuth feature is a huge plus. For anyone with FCA vehicles, this makes unlocks the SGW. Something that can be a pain.The bi-directional control is another major win. This feature gives you the ability to actively control and test components in your vehicle, like a professional. Whether you're activating relays or adjusting settings, this scanner has you covered.And let's talk about ease of use. Just pair it with your phone and you're good to go. The app is super intuitive, and the setup is quick. You don't need to be a tech to figure this out. It's just plug, pair, and scan. Plus, it works seamlessly with both iOS and Android, so no matter your device, you're good to go.Overall, if you're after a reliable, user friendly OBD2 scanner that offers real power and flexibility (without any hidden fees), the Ediag Elite is definitely worth the investment. 5.0 out of 5 stars The 2025 Ediag Elite with Lifetime Software Update - a Must Have OBD2 Scanner
The 2025 Kingbolen Ediag Elite OBD2 scanner came in a sleek/modern design. It arrived inside its own little case and was nicely packaged. The black and silver reinvented design was somewhat appealing, but mostly the lifetime free software update (no yearly renewal) was the deal breaker for me. The device came packed with all vehicle systems, 15 service resets, and lifetime free software update. It seems solid enough although not rubberized on the outside like the other Ediag. Instructions on how to install the Ediag app and create an account to activate the device were included in the box.When the device is plugged into the OBD2 port of the car, it shows a green light; once you access the Ediag app and tap any function, the light turns blue. The first time, you may have to wait a little for the system to be updated for your specific vehicle. Then, you can run a health test that will show you the overall state of your vehicle while pinpointing each specific issue. You have the option to save the findings as a report or PDF file and they will be saved in the app icon titled “Reports”; it also has an app icon titled “History” that contains all the vehicles that you have diagnosed with the scanner. This is an amazing device for that price and it comes with so many perks. While I wish that the manufacturer would have kept the outside rubber cover in the Ediag Elite design for added protection, I really like the modern look of the device. When not in use, I will make sure to keep the device in its hard case so that it lasts a long time allowing me to enjoy the free lifetime updates. Currently, the cost of the device is around $100 on Bolo. For the things I was able to observe, do, and even manipulate in my vehicles with the Ediag Elite (easily turned off that TPMS light), it is worth every penny in my opinion. This device can access the immobilizer to program keys for some (not all) vehicles. The special functions I tested all worked well and without any issue. At this price and for the time being, I think that it is fair to give this device a rating of 4.75 out 5 as it meets expectations for functionality, connectivity, ease of use, portability, and level of accuracy. If the outside of the device was rubberized, I would have definitely given it the full 5 stars in my first impression review. I will report back if I see any change in these expectations as I continue to use the device.

Overall I would recommend. Yes it’s slow but for 100 dollars it’s to be expected. You basically get a professional level scan tool at a consumer price/quality. I was able to get live monitoring, bi directional tests, and even reprogram a key transponder. I tried it on three different cars and it worked well. With that being said the software is SLOW and buggy and will teach you to be patient. If you can get past that I think there’s a lot of value in this tool especially if it continues work down the line. With that being said customer support is TERRIBLE/Non existent. They must be on the opposite side of the globe because it takes a day to get an email back(time zone?), I had an issue and they answered me once before ghosting me. I basically had to figure it out on my own. But if you’re using this caliber of scan tool you best have some knowledge of your own or you could mess something up. 4 stars for the product 0 stars for the customer support.

Subaru maintenance functions not supported
I have other OBD2 bidirectional scan tools. I purchased this Kingbolen ediag elite tool specifically for my Subarus. This tool connects well and I like the iphone app instead of a separate screen. However none of the advanced maintenance functionality is supported for Subaru. No ABS bleeding, no gearbox relearn, no throttle relearn, nothing.I tried to contact Kingbolen for support but no response. I returned it.
