Even though I needed fans with speed control, I'm still giving these a decent rating because it was my fault for not ordering what I actually required.These fans are pretty quiet for how fast they blow. The minimal noise that they emit is far from enough to disturb a quiet night reading. They have a typical 4" male end, meaning they fit into most 4" ducting. I would recommend using a noise reducing coupling if attaching directly to a filter, as to minimize the rattling you might hear.They are heavy on one side so the fan will tip over unless mounted properly. However, the anchor holes don't really lend themselves to much other than being screwed into a table or ceiling.Overall, I would say these are a good product for the price. They just really won't work for my setup. I may keep them anyway.
