I chose the former, but after diving into Positano Travel Guide 2025 by Anthony Wilson, I’m now eagerly planning my visit to this iconic cliffside gem.Initially, I was concerned about logistics—how to get there from Rome and how to navigate a city perched on dramatic cliffs. Wilson addressed all my questions with clarity and depth, making Positano feel not only accessible but tailor-made for my travel style. From luxurious rooftop restaurants and tranquil spas to incredible beaches and scenic hiking trails, this guide paints a picture of a destination where I could easily lose myself—and perhaps never leave!The book isn't without its flaws; some of the design elements felt a bit kitschy, which detracted slightly from the overall polish. However, Wilson’s storytelling and expertise more than make up for it. His enthusiasm and rich descriptions bring Positano to life, leaving readers inspired and ready to pack their bags.If Positano has ever been on your bucket list—or even if it hasn’t—this guide will convince you it’s a destination worth exploring. This is a great guide for anyone wanting to visit Positano. I liked its simplicity and practicality. I visited the Amalfi Coast back in 2005, and this would have been a great book to have to help navigate. It is a very comprehensive resource for planning a trip and not only provides sightseeing opportunities but also experiences of the city itself in all aspects, from spas to stores to nightlife to religious activities and general information.

Not a very detailed review. Very general. Not worth buying. For example, the restaurant sections lists 6 out of about 75 restaurants. There are about 500 hotels & places to stay in Positano, the book only lists 8. There are probably about 100 shops...the book lists 6. Every chapter is minimal with large print to add pages.

I bought this book because half of my family lives in Turin and the other half in Rome. My wife and I are currently living in the US, and we've been planning to visit Italy for a while now. I've been there twice before, but this time, I'm going with my wife. This book was a great travel guide, and I got a lot out of it. Will recommend!

I liked this guide a lot. I appreciated the detail in sections like restaurants and even a whole section dedicated to spas! There are a variety of suggestions across different budgets which was nice as not everybody can plan the same level of trip. I also liked the conversational tone of the book making it simple and easy to follow.

Ho apprezzato particolarmente le sezioni dedicate ai consigli "insider", come le spiagge nascoste e i quartieri meno noti, ideali per scoprire il lato più autentico di Positano. Le raccomandazioni culinarie, che spaziano da trattorie familiari a ristoranti di lusso, arricchiscono ulteriormente il viaggio. La presenza di fotografie ben etichettate e di una mappa rende l’organizzazione semplice e visivamente piacevole. Un aspetto migliorabile potrebbe essere l’inclusione di più dettagli sui festival locali o eventi stagionali, per aiutare i viaggiatori a pianificare al meglio la propria visita.
