So I took what I’ve learned from a couple and oh my goodness….my first try was perfect. This machine is compact, perfect for 2 servings. Doesn’t take up a lot of space. It’s not loud at all. If you’re considering this, get the Dash My Mug Cookbook to go with it! The recipes are perfect for this machine. 120 recipes! Yes, I know…the pot doesn’t come out but that’s not an issue with me. It’s still easy to clean, just use care. No regrets on my purchase and it didn’t cost an arm and leg. Plus, I know what’s in my ice cream.
5.0 out of 5 stars Remarkable upgrade from my old ice cream maker
My old electric ice cream maker kicked the bucket, so I upgraded to this one. I made my first batch in it yesterday, and wow — what a difference! I didn't know an ice cream maker could run so quietly and make ice cream so quickly. The ice cream came out so smooth and creamy. Its design also makes it much easier to clean than my old one. Honestly, I wish I’d made the switch sooner. I will never go back to the old style.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality and easy fun to use
I love this thing.. I actually love that it gave a little recipe book for my first try. So it made use so easy and set up is a few moments of your time. I was able to get my kids involved although it is not enough for my whole family to enjoy so that was is my only real complaint... and it's ready to eat once complete but can be frozen after use. It's not great to clean but in life I feel nothing is! The quality is on point and it's very well made for the price.
4.0 out of 5 stars It's good but...
It works, but you cannot remove the tray where the ice cream is made, so it's a bit uncomfortable to remove the ice cream and to clean it. Otherwise well made.
1.0 out of 5 stars BROKE very quickly!
After having for about 3 weeks and very minimal use, the stirring mechanism quit working today. Without the ice cream being stirred, the machine is useless. The machine is very loud! It sounded like the stirring mechanisms was screaching from not having enough power to stir the ingredients when first put into the machine. I literally would put it in a room I wasn't in when I used it, and I could still hear it across the house. It makes small quantities compared to other machines, but takes about 4 times longer to make than the freezer bowl type ice cream maker. It takes about two hours to make in this machine. In the freezer bowl one I have, it makes ice cream in 30-40 minutes. I wouldn't recommend anybody buy this as it's obviously not made well. I will be returning.
3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad for the price but might be worth spending more
Let's start with the good! For $80 this is a great first time ice cream maker. It takes about 1.5 hrs to make a soft ice cream with no prefreezing (which was the reason I bought it) I love that it is compact. It doesn't have a removable container making it different (not difficult) to clean. It makes enough to make 2 servings. (I fill it half way because I'm not sure if it can handle more)The downsideI tried to upload a short video and no matter what it comes up with an error, so I can't. It is not as quiet as I had hoped. I have a counter top ice machine and am used to a compressor making noise but this is a high pitched whine every rotation. It will not stop me from using this but next time I would spend a little more and getter a better model. It also didn't come with very good instructions luckily it is not rocket science. Their is also no recipe book and as I have never made ice cream I was hoping for a couple of tried and true recipes but I found some online.Overall I'll keep using it and am in love with making my own fresh frozen yogurt at home. I'll definitely buy a quieter one next time and might try to find one that you can remove the container to make cleaning easier.
5.0 out of 5 stars May be habit forming lol
Oh my goodness.... easy peasy. First batch of protien ice cream made.. eaten... and cleaned up!! 3 scoops protien powder..i used 2 choc one pb2... unsweetened coconut milk.. added a squirt of choc syrup.. blender... then straight into machine. Churned 2 hours..hard ice cream. Let it keep cool 2 hours.. will say had to turn off and defrost a little to get it out of the machine. It is really easy. Do not over think the mixture.
5.0 out of 5 stars One Pint Wonder
Perfect sized ice cream maker for the three of us. Super easy to use. Although on the FIRM setting, I still needed to transfer the ice cream to a pint size container and freeze over night. It’s definitely easy to clean and is priced so much better than a Ninja Creami which mine only lasted a year before it shorted out and had to end up dumping. Much quieter than the Ninja Creami also. So far I’ve made strawberry chocolate ice cream and blueberry freckle ice cream. All came out great!
