I came across these and after reading all of the great comments, thought that I would give them a try. I haven't smoked in over 10 years. I'm happy that I quit and I don't ever crave cigarettes. Honestly I can't believe that I ever liked smoking because I can't stand the smell of it now. I just think it's gross. But... I recently have been wanting one so I thought I'd give these a try instead.Here's my honest review.First, the box is really beautiful. I love the artwork and I love the iridescent patina that they included. I noticed that there isn't any English writing anywhere on the box. It's all in Mandarin. I took pictures of it all and translated it so that you can see what it says in English. According to what's written on the box, it contains plum tea, chrysanthemums, rose, and what they call a reducing sugar which I assume is the honey. It also specifically states that there is no tobacco in this, which I find reassuring because that leads me to my second point.I made sure to pack them really well and then pulled one out to smell it before lighting. It honestly smells exactly like what I remember cigarettes smelling like. That faint tobacco leaf smell was definitely there. It was not unpleasant at all and I rather liked the smell, but it really made me wonder if they weren't really cigarettes. I lit one and discovered that they really do taste like a cigarette. It was just a tiny bit harsh but not too bad and I attribute that to the fact that I haven't smoked in so long and I'm not accustomed to having smoke hit my throat. The harshness quickly went away and it tastes and feels and smokes very very much like a cigarette. So much so, that I really seriously became increasingly convinced that I was smoking an actual cigarette and China had somehow fooled us. As I smoked I kept thinking that maybe China was having a bit of a laugh and getting Americans to continue smoking harmful tobacco under the guise of it being harmless tea. Surely not? Surely this is not some giant ruse, but honest to goodness I felt like I was smoking an actual cigarette. It even made the tip of my tongue just a tiny bit numb for a moment. I really am convinced I was smoking an actual cigarette. After I finished, I had that smokey taste in my mouth that another reviewer mentioned, and just like him, I too found myself glad that I had quit smoking. It was so much like a real cigarette that I actually felt really bad after smoking it like I had cheated.I've seen other reviewers say that it tastes and smells like incense and I did not have that experience at all. It tastes and smells like an actual cigarette. I was hoping that these would not give off secondhand smoke that smells like cigarette smoke because I didn't want to offend my apartment neighbors, but unfortunately I think it smells very much like a cigarette if not exactly. Maybe not as bad but I'm not sure. I do know that afterwards coming inside I scrubbed my fingers to get the smell off because I can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke on my skin and I remember with regular cigarettes I could never ever get that smell off no matter how many times I scrubbed but with these I am able to get like 95% of the smell off so that's a good thing.If you're looking for a (supposed) nicotine and tobacco free cigarette, I would definitely buy these. I can see them really helping someone wean off of nicotine, while giving the almost exact sensation of smoking a real cigarette. I still think maybe I've been fooled and maybe these are really just cigarettes but unless I hire a lab to verify there's no way to really know.I hope you have found this review helpful! 💜

It smells nice but it tastes like nothing and it burns extremely fast and the wrapper fails to burn and the stick doesn't release smoke like other herbal products can to emulate a real experience.

I got this "Herbal Cigarettes, Nicotine Free, Tobacco Free" for my father, who was very addicted to smoke and had been on and off regarding smoking.He tried this product and he doesn't like it. What he described to me is that this product doesn't stop the craving for smoke as it tastes no way like a real cigarette.On the other hand, he believes this product is for non-smoking persons for casual smoking.Based on this feedback, I cannot recommend this product to those who are looking for a product that helps quit smoking, which is this product marketed for.
