Description:

In the quiet town of Idlewood, twenty-year-old Eden Faulkner is known for her unwavering devotion to her Catholic faith. Raised in the shadow of the town's church, she has always sought solace and guidance within its hallowed walls.

When Father Roman Briar arrives at St. Michaels, his charisma and mysterious presence immediately captivate Eden. As their friendship deepens into forbidden territory, Eden finds herself ensnared in a web of desire and deceit. Roman, too, struggles with his vows, torn between his sacred duty and the intense attraction he feels for Eden.

Caught between their faith and their desires, Eden and Roman must confront the consequences of their choices. Will they find redemption in each other's arms, or will their illicit affair lead them down a path of irreparable sin?

In this provocative, dark tale, author Katerina St Clair explores the fragile boundaries between faith, passion, duty and temptation. Forgive Me Father is a mesmerizing journey into the heart of a young woman's struggle with love, faith, and her dark secrets better left buried.

5.0 out of 5 stars My First Read From This Author!

& definitely not my last! This book is spicy, full of romance, has a great plot that kept me captivated, and has amazing artwork! I adored all of the story, and I'll surely read more of Katerina St Clair's books! I originally stumbled across her book on instagram, unsure how I'd like it since I'm not religious at all. But boy, am I glad I did. This book isn't too dark. It's a perfect novel to tip your toes in if you aren't too familiar with dark books. I solely read dark books, but this still held my interest thoroughly. I'd love have a book from Eden's mothers POV, set before she gave birth to her babies. I'd love to see how she endured it all, and how she became the way she did.

4.0 out of 5 stars Yes, Father!!!

A.H. · March 15, 2025

This book was steamy. And I don't mean just, like, a little bit. We're talking full-on, delicious tension that had me fanning myself. The forbidden romance vibe? Chef's kiss. It was so well done. The whole priest-falling-for-someone thing is a classic trope, but St. Clair made it feel fresh and exciting. The characters were complex, and I was genuinely invested in their messy, complicated relationship. Like, I was rooting for them even when I knew I probably shouldn't be.The writing was really good, too. It was atmospheric and evocative, and it really drew me into the story. There were definitely some moments that were a bit over-the-top, but honestly, that's kind of what I was there for. It's definitely not a book for everyone. If you're easily offended or don't like a little (or a lot) of spice, you might want to skip this one. But if you're looking for a dark, passionate romance that will keep you up way too late at night, then "Forgive Me, Father" is definitely worth a read. Just be prepared to clutch your pearls a little. 😉

5.0 out of 5 stars a spicy priest dark romance

4.5 rounded up.I enjoyed the story and the building relationship between “Father” Roman and Eden. A bit on an instalust/love.4.5 because some on the scenes and aspects didn’t feel “believable” to me, causing it to break my flow when reading, however still a really good and spicy dark romance read.I loved the artwork included in the ebook too! It was a nice addition. Please check the trigger warnings before reading if you have things which trigger you. 💜Include: H traffiċking, SA, abduction, and others.

3.0 out of 5 stars I liked a lot, couldn't love.

S.E. · April 23, 2025

I initially was disappointed and almost dnf, but I'm not a quitter and wanted to be able to form an opinion. I expected slow burn, lots of tension and internal conflict given the context and the character backgrounds and it just kinda hopped right into it out the gate with little build up. I enjoy all the spice, but I was left wanting more because I felt like there was an opportunity to really lean into the proverbial "forbidden fruit"(Just an opinion) Later in the book you understand why, but only if you can stick with it. It is still an enjoyable story (🌶️ included) if you can reposition your expectations.

4.0 out of 5 stars Thrilling. Forbidden. Dark. Sinful. SPICY

I had been following the author on Instagram because she kept posting teasers of spicy art and quotes, and the anticipation was driving me insane!! And the book did not disappoint.I'm not religious, but given how dirty this was, I feel like I need to be drowned in holy water! If Roman were my priest, you best believe I would attend church every Sunday. GOOD LORD, that man is delicious.I was kicking and screaming and giggling throughout this whole book.Roman and Eden's chemistry was absolutely amazing. The cross scene? *chef's kiss* AND HE COUNTED THE INCHES *faint* ugh, the spicy scenes were just so hot, and I 100% agree with his idea of stress relief *wink*For a man who is trying REALLY hard to resist her temptation, he's very protective of her. There were so many twists and turns that my head was reeling. The spice was spicing, the romance was romancing, the thrill was thrilling, and the tension was TIGHT, just the whole package. For a priest, Roman has such a dirty mouth; he had me blushing throughout the entire thing, like THAT WASN'T VERY HOLY OF YOU, SIR!! And he's such a sweetheart, and at the same time, he's like a golden retriever raised by a Doberman. He's just the perfect balance between being dirty, a dom, and a softy. At the end of every chapter, there was a bible verse and spicy art relevant to the events that had taken place, and it had me drooling. NO PRIEST SHOULD BE THAT HOT, and we better get a graphic novel!!Beware, though. While this book was spicy to new heaven (no pun intended), it got dark really, really fast. Please read the trigger warnings because they are very important to this book's themes. Lots of religious trauma but lots of healing as wellI am excited about whatever comes next!Spice: 3.75/5Dark: 4/5Overall: 4/5

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark, taboo and smutty

I've had this book for awhile and finally decided to read it because I noticed it was getting a lot of hate recently. Honestly I really don't understand why but everyone has their own tastes I guess. I personally really enjoyed this book yes it a fast burn, it gets dark because Eden's father as well as most of the people in the church are horrible people. There is also quite a bit of smut between Eden and Father Briar. If that's not your thing then don't read it but if it is you should totally give it a shot because you might like it. Also make sure you read the trigger warnings. This is my first book by this author and I'll probably look into some of her other books as well since I enjoyed this one.

Roman Briar would have me at church every day of the week! The instant chemistry and initial interactions between Roman and Eden had me hooked. The character development and back stories were well detailed. I love a good internal conflict with characters and the switch in perspective.I did find some moments where things in a timescale seemed to progress rather quickly, but it made sense to map out the story too.The trigger warnings are no joke too. There is very dark aspects to this story, which can be tough to think about. But believe me it is worth it ❤️Curious and excited to see what Katerina has in store for book 2.

came for the spice, stayed for the plot.

Ohh forgive me father 🥵🤌..

What is there to forgive?

T.L. · March 29, 2025

This book captived me right from the beginning.Idlewood isn't like any other town, however it is deep seeded in something dark and sinuous.Eden used college as an escape from her home life, but someone she trusted, destroyed everything she worked so hard for, forcing her to return home. However, her return brings up buried feelings with her brother Aiden. But not before a stranger saves her from making the gravest mistake of her life.Because behind closed doors Eden and her brother Aiden endure what no child should ever endure at the hands of their father. Laying bare there darkest secrets to each other.Father Roman Briar, takes up his new post as the priest at St. Michael's. His mysterious presence and charisma immediately captive the town, including Eden. When Roman finds something odd on the computer, David, Eden's father clues him in on exactly what he's apart of, shocking him to his core. He had no idea. Because to beat the monster at his own game, he must follow him into the depths of hell.Yet, his friendship with Eden deepens into forbidden territory. There illicit affair ensnares them in a web of desires and deceit. Roman begins to question his vows, torn between his sacred duty, because the intense attraction they feel for one another tests not only his faith, but Eden's too.But there are other sinister things in play. When her ex Eric reappears, it sends Eden into a spin. Because Roman knows what he did to Eden, and what disturbs him more is the part her father played in her spiral.Everything begins to unravel for Eden and Roman. Roman thought he could decieve David, playing devils advocate, his intention was to keep Eden safe from her father's machinations, only to learn that his deception has been discovered, David one step ahead, with Eden now in danger more than ever. When Eden and Roman learn of Luca's involement and that he was apart of it from the beginning do they realise the sinster depths of the towns darkness. And in the end, all prevails.Eden and Roman faced the consequences of their choices and came out of it stronger than ever. The truth leads them back safely into each other's arms, there love there redemption. Because there happily ever after was bitter-sweet.Eden and Roman's story definitely tested the boundaries between there faith, passion, duty and temptation. Because without that they wouldn't have found there way to each other. Those smexy scenes were downright steamy, spicy, sinfully dirty, wickedly filthy, deliciously depraved and hot because these two were definitely on a path of irreparable sin and they wouldn't have it any other way.Highly recommend both the author and the book. Here's to anticipating book 2: Teachers Pet
