Most of the “outdoor” food preparation cabinets/islands/furniture made of metal/stainless steel are super expensive. Like thousands of dollars. I bought this NUUK model to replace a smaller (fake) wood food preparation island we purchased five years ago. It was falling apart, and we found that it was just too small for our needs. Here are my impressions of the NUUK, which we received yesterday: PROS—(1) Easy to assemble. The assembly instructions are pretty well thought-out and presented, though the writing could be more clear in some areas. I also watched the assembly video on the Bolo website, which was very helpful. Took me about two hours to assemble by myself, start to finish, even with a few interruptions from our dog. All the hardware was included too. Pretty much all of the holes lined-up as needed, so the to screws and other hardware were pretty easy to install. (2) The entire unit is metal, which appears to be pretty sturdy (good for a unit that will be outside all the time). A couple pieces arrived with minor dings, but nothing serious. (3) The stainless steel top is pretty thin. It arrived with no dings, scratches or blemishes. We’ll see how it lasts over time and through the weather (we’re in Michigan, with four seasons that can range from below-zero and blizzards in winters to 100+ temperatures and high humidity in summers. CONS—Only two that I would immediately note: (1) The cutting board that ships with the unit doubles as the “shelf” inside the right side of the cabinet. But the hardware/brackets used to “hold” the cutting board in place so it can function as a shelf are flimsy, at best. I know it’s important to be able to easily remove the cutting board to use it during food prep, and then to re-mount it. But the first time I put the cutting board on the mounting brackets, it immediately and literally fell off. Then I put it back on before I rolled the assembled unit into place … and the cutting board fell off again as the unit was rolling. (2) This is related to the first “con.” I wish the unit had a shelf on both sides inside the cabinet. Would greatly increase the unit’s storage capacity for paper towels, aluminum pans, aluminum foil, and other stuff used when grilling/smoking. One more think: I strongly recommend purchasing the NUUK cover that is designed specifically for this cabinet. It’s really well made and will absolutely help protect it in rain and/or snow.

I had very little problem with the construction of this cart. Instructions were a little 'iffy', but managed to get it together in a couple hours. Once it's together, it's nice and strong. Yes, I love it, and it will be super useful in containing my tools and the bottle of propane that goes underneath. The drawer is nice to have also. As for the cutting boad, the brackets that hold it in place, are perfect. You just have look at how installation is shown, there is a close-up! It will not fall out! Also, "tolerances" that are off, can be adjusted, and for those who are perfectionists, like me (I see everything, and it bugs me) with a small whack here and there, but nothing so terrible that requires a bad review because of it. Once done, you will love it. I may just buy another one, just because I really like it. Thanks for having this, its perfect!

Originally I rated this product much lower because there were no assembly instructions included in the package and I sort of challenged the Customer Service department for a response. And respond they did! Ashley at NUUK USA contacted me with an apology and offered to send me a new bbq cabinet to ensure my satisfaction. The fact that no assembly instructions were included in my order really wasn’t so bad. After some research I found a video that helped with the assembly. The cabinet is sturdy and after a couple of months use I believe it will last a long time. I really like the stainless steel table. It’s big enough to accommodate a large cutting board so I can prepare meals and place directly into my wood pellet grill. After adding some shelves, all of my utensils store neatly in the cabinet. It has a slide out shelf that increases the size of the work surface. The spice rack accommodates a number of spice jars, salt and pepper and the like. You can hang your bbq tools from the pegs on the spice rack. It has space for a propane tank. If you are not storing a tank it comes with a piece of sturdy plastic to cover the indent for the tank making a flat surface. I think the designers did a great job creating a bbq cabinet that is well built and very useful. Most of all, I am very impressed with the company’s customer service. No, I did not accept Ashley’s offer for a new cabinet. I’m just hoping that the company’s packing department will include assembly instructions for future customers. If you happen to not receive instructions it’s easy to find them online. If you have problems I believe the NUUK USA team will help you. I am very pleased with my purchase.

I was impressed with the way this was packaged, although it still had too much Styrofoam in it, but only one panel had a small scratch. It went together super easily. The instructions were pretty clear and easy to find the bolts and the components. For the most part, everything fits well, but there are a couple of things that could be better. The pull out tray Tolerances are a little off and that the Tray won’t pull out after assembly. I tried multiple approaches, but given the way the system is assembled. I couldn’t find another way to open anything up. It was all good though because I really didn’t intend on using that very much, especially given that it was only, two bolts that provided the ability for the tray to slide out. Overall, though it is really strong and the parts are finished well there’s no visible welds or those kinds of things and it looks to be a really high-quality for a product like this.
