This may be the case. But I just bought some Ecco Track 25's and I'm very happy with them. It's my understanding that they are an update from the Track II's which I have owned before. The back of the shoe comes up a bit higher than the Track Ii, so I feel that part on the upper part of my ankle a bit more than on the Track II. It's a bit uncomfortable, but I presume it will soften up as they break in. I believe it has a bit more cushion in the sole than the Track II's which I like. I've been suffering from some achilles tendon inflammation/pain, and the pain is notably diminished when wearing these shoes which I'm thrilled about. As with the Track II's, I like the combination of the casual look and the rugged construction which makes them good for walking, hiking, hot, cold, and they're waterproof. I like the lace design - they tighten easily. Kind of everything I want in a shoe. Not great if you've got a wide foot.

These are, without a doubt, the best, most comfortable walking shoes I have ever owned. They fit perfectly, not too tight or loose, and waterproof. They're a little stiff so I'll have to break them in over time, but I bought them for a summer trip to Norway where it's damp and rainy, so they'll be perfect by then.
