It does remind me of my usual snail mucin in regards to the feel and plumping effects onto my skin. It definitely does feel ideal for dehydrated skin types so I love it for days I am extra dry.
4.0 out of 5 stars It's not what it appears
To start I actually do like the product, I'm not sure how effective it is yet as it's only been a few weeks but I like how it's not sticky and it doesn't have much of a smell. However, snail mucin is generally more slimy feeling and this just isn't so I took a closer look at the ingredients. It is not 39.2% snail mucin! It's 39.2% of a blend that happens to have some snail mucin in it! Those are two totally different things! I didn't think it's a bad product, but I do think the labels and advertisements are written this way so you'll think it's a more concentrated formula than it really is.That all being said, it goes on smoothly and does not smell. It does not feel slimy or tacky afterwards. It dries down to almost nothing. This size bottle should last me at least 2 months so you do get a decent amount of product for the price. Also I don't know why they're calling it an ampoule, it's not! It's just one big bottle of serum, it is not individual bottles that you open each day for freshness. I'm not really sure why they use that term as it's obvious from the pictures it's not an ampoule.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very hydrating
Been using this serum for a couple months. It leaves my skin soft and hydrated. Easy to layer with other skincare. Doesn’t have a smell. Definitely going to reorder once I run out.
4.0 out of 5 stars Carefully read the list of ingredients and do the math
Note on the labeling: this is not 39.2% snail mucin. The labeling is a bit deceptiveThe key active ingredient in this product (after water) is the Centella Asiatiaca. It's a 38.5% extract ratio; whatever amount of extract is in there is Centella A. Reading down on the list of ingredients are Eggplant, Tea tree, sachromycces (rice ferment). The snail secretion is 5,000 parts per million, so something like 0.5%. Thus, 1/200th of the bottle will be snail mucin. If you feel any sliminess from the serum it's probably not snail mucin, but a combination of other ingredients. The ginseng is 0.2%, or 1/500th of the bottle. If you add 38.5 + 0.5 + 0.2 you come out with 39.2%, the vast majority of which is the Centella Asiatica leaf extract.Back to the product: it's a fairly well-known K-beauty brand. I've tried it at the urging of my daughter, who has introduced me to K-beauty products. I was disappointed when I learned how little snail mucin there is (!) but I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt that there is some redeeming qualities, especially with the Centella Asiatica extract. The serum isn't gloppy or tacky like snail mucin masks (that now I wonder about , do they even contain any mucin at all?) It spreads evenly and smoothly, and I found 6 drops was enough to even do under my jawline. I've only used it twice, so I can't see any noticeable difference, yet. No irritation, no rash no redness. No fragrance. My skin feels smoother under my fingertips, but visually, too soon to tell.I'm docking a star because the labeling is misleading. For a non-math gal like myself, it took a fair amount of time to calculate how much of what is really in this product.
5.0 out of 5 stars Another great APLB Skincare Product!
This review is a from a 57-year old gal - hydration is one of main skincare concerns. I love KBeauty and snail mucin/ginseng are two of my favorite Eastern ingredients. So I was excited to see APLB - this wonderful KBEAUTY skincare line - create a serum containing both of these ingredients. The serum is light, but surprisingly, my skin felt very hydrated and smooth after applying. My face looked fresh all day.I am thoroughly impressed with this serum as well as the information that APLB has on its page explaining the benefits of snail mucin/secretion and ginseng! These are precious Eastern ingredients and are why Kbeauty is so effective.Overall, the APLB skincare line is top notch - and reasonably priced. This is my fourth product from them and I have not been disappointed.I recommend!
5.0 out of 5 stars Smooth
I really like this item. Although I don’t use it as often as I should, I’ve noticed that when my skin feels a little dry, applying this product overnight makes a noticeable difference by the next day. My skin is much less dry than it was, so I believe it has effective hydration properties. While I’m not certain about its anti-aging benefits, the hydration it provides is definitely present.
4.0 out of 5 stars Nice product
This is a nice product. It is a little thinner that the cos rx one but still nice to mix in some of my products. The only reason I took one star off is because it has an unpleasant odor!
5.0 out of 5 stars High quality light weight ampule
This is very lightweight, but is soothing to the skin. It contains a variety of beneficial ingredients. There is no synthetic fragrances which is a huge plus to me. It has a light scent from the natural ingredients that quickly dissipates. My skin instantly feels smooth from it. I'm looking forward to seeing how my skin does after a few weeks of use.
