I bought this stand along with one that would hold a vertical monitor. But, the other on was too low to hold a 42 inch monitor vertical. However, I discovered that this is a much more versatile stand.The holders on back of the TV hang over a horizontal bar so they can be as close or as far apart as needed.My stand is off-centered and works better for me this way. If I had put it centered, the bar in back would have stuck out a bitThe slanted appearance is an optical illusion. The horizontal monitor top is further forward than the bottom. They don't appear like they are leaning in person.This was a very easy to assemble stand and it is doing the job for me.I really like how versatile it is with the support pieces.

I used the WKWKER universal swivel tv mount for a 50 inch TV. It is really sturdy, and such a good deal at less than $20. The instructions are pictures only and could be a little better; especially number 3. I've included photos that may possibly help. Sorry I didn't get a photo of the assembled mount before attaching to the TV.I like that it swivels so I don't have to pivot the entire tv stand when I move around the room.
