We heard that peppermint oil is a great mouse deterrent, so I wanted to find a diffuser that would neither require a lot of maintenance nor risk spillage. These little wood diffusers do the job.Realizing the simplicity of the design, I could have made a comparable diffuser with a hardwood dowel and rotary tool. However, at this asking price, the convenience of purchasing them ready to use was well worth my time, and I likely would have spent as much if not more to get a matching piece of wood and the appropriate rotary tool head.If the peppermint oil does the job, I will certainly be buying more of these for other locations.Simply add oil to the concave end, and place in a desired location. At first, I thought I applied too much oil, as it filled the bowl, but soon learned that the wood would absorb it while still preserving its aromatic properties. This allowed me to place them in the backs of cupboards and our pantry. Fingers crossed regarding the functionality of the peppermint oil, but these diffusers certainly function as described. Their hardwood construction ensures they will last a long time.If you order multiple, as did I, be aware that the items you receive may be colored differently because of variations in wood tone. Also note that the finished height of each diffuser appears to vary slightly. Mine, stood next to each other, very by almost 1/8 of an inch (approximately 3 mm). Since I'm using them independently, this is no big deal, but if you intend to use them in close proximity to each other, where they will be visible, those quite variations might matter to you.
