I absolutely love this hat. The again you can't go wrong with North Face. Amazing quality, lightweight, fits excellent, super comfortable and has helped me tremendously to get shade from the sun when I am outside. I have ended up buying another color. It definitely value for money. I have two now. I would have loved to get the Light Grey but the cost was just too much.

This is a great hat for beach wear. The brim is a little floppy, but it could be that i just fold it up when not in use. I can tell the construction and materials will last a long time. The openings around the hat allow a cool breeze to pass through the hat. I have a large head, and this hat fit very well.

I needed a good sun hat for backpacking and this is perfect. It provides good sun coverage when hiking along exposed trails. It is light, comfortable and ventilates very well. I was surprised how comfortable it was when backpacking up steep hills. The brim is soft enough to mold to my backpack so that it doesn't get pushed off my head but stiff enough not to flop in the wind. We camped by an alpine lake and the wind was 20+ mph at times and the brim didn't flop around like many other hat's I've used. It also folds down well to be stuffed in a side pocket of a backpack and flattens out well afterwards. I highly recommend.

This hat provides excellent sun protection but is a little too limp for my taste. A semi steady breeze pushes the brim up exposing you to sun. Forget about it staying down while doing something like moving the boat at 15-20 mph. The hat stays on but the brim bends back too easily. Yard work is another story. It’s fine for that. Sitting still in the boat is also ok as long as it’s not windy.

Kmart quality for $80
For the price, the quality is abysmal. I purchased this hat in 2022 for $40-something dollars and the quality was wayyyy better! The new "recycled materials" thing they are doing is just an excuse for cost cutting anywhere they can. The old version was USPF 50+ (this one is 40), the brim is really stiff and it looks like a "school hat". The stitching on the brim is all over the shop. The cord is stiff, low quality, and the way and is tied to the hat is so stingy. It used to be thicker, two tone, AND ELASTIC. Even the plastic adjustment clips on it are so ghetto. They used to be made of solid lightweight good quality plastic with TNF logo on them.The most pathetic thing about this hat and TNF products in general, is the premium pricing has gone up for sweatshop quality gear. I'm surprised the logo was embroidered, as it was only last year TNF was screen printing their logo because it was cheaper and less garments had to be thrown out due to stitching error. One of their reps even came into a Reddit thread where everyone was ripping on the screen printing and they claimed it was to "maintain the integrity of the fabric". Whatever you say pal!!!TNF is a perfect example of how a brands reputation can quickly go to the dogs from cutting corners everywhere under the guise of "sustainable materials" to justify it. Next time I will get a hat from Kmart because at least it's not pretending to be something it isn't like TNF... GOOD QUALITY!!!1/5 stars. Do NOT recommend.
