The color brown can mean a lot of different things. Sometimes brown tape is actually tan and a bit see-through. This tape is darker than the tan rolls so it is dark enough to cover the writing and old labels on the recycled boxes I use for shipping. It has a strong adhesive and is a good thickness so it doesn't get wrinkled too easily when I am attaching it to boxes. The dispenser works well but you have to take care not to let the end of the tape slip out of the feeder notches since it will end up sticking to the tape roll and then it is hard to peel it back off, due to the excellent adhesive. This is a good deal for 6 rolls plus the dispenser.

If you do a lot of shipping or just are moving, these 12 rolls of tape are a great value - it works out to just over $2 a roll, which is a third of what purchasing it at home depot or similar will cost. It also comes with an easy dispenser to help cut the tape.

I go through a lot of packing tape. This one comes 12 rolls with a dispenser. The tape is thick & sticks well to the package. It’s a decent buy if you need packing tape.
