Using these fresh vanilla beans for vanilla extract. The packaging was sealed well and the beans felt very fresh. The quality seems to be good but this is my first vanilla bean purchase so I wasn’t sure what to expect. They weren’t very thick beans, but they were soft and fresh feeling. They smelled great and seem to be of decent size, although I’m not sure what size they usually are since this is my first time purchasing vanilla beans. It will be about 11-12 months before my vanilla extract is done so I won’t have a chance to taste them until it’s ready, but they smelled like vanilla!

I purchased to make my own vanilla extract, and it is working wonderfully! I placed five beans in a tall bottle with vodka and am letting it sit for eight weeks in a cool, dark place and turning the bottle periodically. When I open the cap of the bottle, I am treated with a wonderful fragrance. The beans arrived fresh and sealed in a thick plastic wrapping. I am pleased with this purchase.

Great beans and good price. My wife does a lot of baking so she buys the beans and a cheap brand of unflavored vodka. Uses about 6 beans per quart and 8 weeks later shes has a quart of vanilla extract at a good price and quality
