5.0 out of 5 stars Great pump! Pumps massive amounts of water!
Ordered this on 6_5_2025 and got it the morning of 6_6_2025.MUCH more powerful than my old sump pump! This thing pumps serious water! My old well, put in the early 1800's and pumped by windmill, then later upgraded to in-basement electric pump went bad. All the very old galvanized piping were getting holes and enough pressure in the well was causing back yard to flood. Dug a couple big holes in the yard, one where the old well house used to be. It was flooding those holes and the old sump pump just was not keeping up. So I got this new sump pump and wow! Much more water flow!
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value for the price.
I bought this pump in January 2023 to pump rain water out of my large de-commissioned pool. After a few days or more of rain, I would run an extension cord out to the pool and pump out 100+ gallons of water. It pumped water 8 or 9 feet up out of the pool through a garden hose to my drainage system. It took hours to move that much water but it did great. A couple of times it pumped out all of the water and ran dry for awhile before I noticed. It finally died this month. The triangular attachment enables pump to suck below 1/2" of water depth and keeps debris from getting sucked into pump. The pump has a high pitched whine, so I only use it during daylight hours so as not to annoy the neighbors. I am buying another today.
4.0 out of 5 stars A Little Disappointed
I just started with this pump by testing it a few times by sitting it in a dishpan and filling with water. I don't know how long this will last but for now it seems ok. I'll start by pointing out each minor disappointment by category. Why I gave four stars.Easy To Use: for the most part yes it is except that it absolutely has to be in at least 6 inches of water to prime properly. I initially thought that as long as the base was under water it would be fine but no it will not pump anything unless half of the pump is under water. I literally thought I got a defective pump because it wouldn't suck just slosh water around like a washing machine and water would start to come out the crease between the two halves. After putting it in deeper water it pumped great and quick. On a side note the 6 inches is without any bases on it, add width of base to the six to know how deep the water should be.Noise Level: yes it seems pretty quiet except for when not primed as stated before, it's noisiest when its not in deep enough water to prime and just sloshing water around. Basically draws air and wont pump.Easy To Install: for the most part yes except initially I thought the bases were only held on by a couple clips. Turns out theres actually a screw holding it on as well. Since its plastic don't apply to much force, once you remove the screw it comes off pretty easily. All in all it does ok, I just don't know if my basement will get deep enough to kick it on. I bought this because my other pump just wasn't keeping up with the water coming in. I currently don't have any base on mine, it requires deep enough water already, adding a based would require even deeper water. I guess we will wait and see with the next heavy downpour how it does. I do wish it was like my other pump with a sensor that kicks it on in only 1 1/4 inches of water.
1.0 out of 5 stars Declared storm disaster
This 3 in 1 sump pump was purchased for removing water from my low lying homes front porch/yard in an effort to divert a heavy deluge of rain water surpassing my storm drains and gutters ability to handle the onslought of this storm. This is not an easy just plug it in and it works kind of pump that we've used in the past. In fact, it seems very temperamental and didn't work during the storm at all. We simply could not get it to work and I found myself with a friend digging trenches in the heavy rain. Soaking wet and disgusted at my purchase! Then another storm directly hit and again I was faced with flooding and my daughter re read the manual, fiddled with removing the bottom of it, (3 jn 1pump) seems as though this setting , just a removable /changeable bottom piece, supposedly allowing different levels of water, is very persnickety and with it, the pump simply doesn't even turn on, or if the pump starts operating, it suddenly stops for no apparent reason? You must jiggle it around, to get it pumping again? After an hour of working on what I think should have just came on, she finally got it to start doing its job. This, after two other men had tried to get it going and instead grabbed a shovel! Flooding did occur and I purchased this due to it's price and it was the only money I had at the time, to prevent my home from getting flooded. It didn't work when I needed it most. My home was flooded and I have since tried to use it for other household things to pump water out and it does not do the job. I feel it was a supreme waste of my money time and efforts to even try to use it for anything. In situations such as removing water from your bathroom floor for toilet overflow, or your porch during a storm, you don't have time to mess around trying to get a pump to even power on? I'm sorry to say I don't recommend this additional headache to anyone. When you want to remove water, you don't have the luxury of tinkering with a temperamental pump that seems to have a mind of its own and is no easy task to figure out. The manual was no help at all in trying to get it to function. It's 3 in 1 seems to be a 3 in 1 chance that it will even turn on! I am a widow and don't have any expertise in sump pumps to be sure, but I know if you plug one in and drop it into the water, it should at least try to come on, and it did nothing! My home was flooded. Thank you for reading.
5.0 out of 5 stars I don't use this to empty any large standing water or anything but it works for my uses.
I don't use this for any standing water or anything that serious but have some 1" OD plastic hose that I routed to something. I move water from a bucket to somewhere else and that small 12v pump failed so I decided to go heavy duty. The Nozzle was a bit too large to initially fit on the 7/8"ID hose that I had for the previous pump but I heated the plastic hose in boiling water and it easily slip on one of the included barbed fitting adaptors. I further secured it with a hose clamp and it works well and extremely fast. It actually moves water faster than my tub faucet can blast out to keep the bucket filled. So far it was a great buy and such a time saver. It fills a 5 gallon bucked within 10 or so instead of minutes like my very first pump or very close to a minute like my last pump.
Absolutely cheap and junky pump
I bought a 1 horsepower Medas pump that puts out far less than a 1/4 horsepower Simmer brand pump. There's no way this pump meets it's specifications.
lots of power, easy to use, drained down to about 10mm
The media could not be loaded. I purchased the pump to empty the last few inches of water from a pool. High speed pumping as can be seen in the video. I used the standard pipe I use for normal pool equipment like the pool vac which has a yellow rubber fitting on the end. I removed the stepped fitting and placed it straight onto the elbow. The pump got it down to about 10mm left even with the smallest base fitted. I then used a large bucket and a dustpan to scoop up the remaining 10mm. The floating switch meant I could just keep chucking water into the bucket and the pump would switch on when the water level got high enough, it ran for a few seconds draining the bucket down to an inch or two. Much easier than carrying buckets out of the pool each time. Really happy with the purchase.
Good quality
Still using it one year later for transferring all grain mashed through an on line filter.
Easy to use
Makes draining the hot tub and pool.s9 much easier. Works great and fast. Been using it for probably 8 months and it's holding up well.
Was bought for backup
Worked great for what I needed it for thanks
