Anytime you purchase an electrical report tem there's a initial burn of the heating element. This was no different except it was STRONG. I turn it on ever once in a while when it's empty to get a proper burn off to eliminate smell. It's hard to explain really. It's like when you turn your furnace on for the first couple of times in the winter and it has that "smell". Well that's what this is like. I don't notice not so much now but I am used to this sort of thing. The one thing I'm not t liking now s the humming sound it makes while in use. But all in all I like it. Toasts my homemade bread nicely and evenly. It is great for when you want to bend a fresh tortilla in half without breaking it and put it in the slot. It makes a perfect almost baked flour tortilla for taco's or whatever you want to fill it with. I like it well enough to keep it.

I love this style of toaster. It handles wider bread slices, thick bagels, and is a slim design that doesn't take up much space. The cord is an adequate length. I leave the darkness setting on 3 and that seems to work for most items. The toasting is evenly distributed. The crumb tray is easy to remove and clean.

Keep looking. This is not a good toaster. The idea and design are nice. It has a slim design and does fit different shapes of bread, unlike regular toasters. However, it can't toast for squat. It burns one half while leaving the other pale. Toasting two slices at a time is mostly ineffective. It worked great for bagels but it is useless with any other kind if bread I've tried so far.

It was a good value. Used like new however, it was not. Used good is more accurate. Worn off stamped letters. Edges have wear. I like the size. It's perfect for my use. Slim and tidy. Blacked out sides are easy to clean, no streaking. The stainless strip is hard to not smear and streak. But doesn't look bad.So far an entire slice of bakery bread toasts entirely. The Mueller I had, needed to be cut in half or it wouldn't fit. Then the piece sticking out was left untoasted. $27+ see how long this Hamilton Beach lasts! I'm a big time toast person! Bolo did beat every single price I found locally. Best value for brand name. Stores disappoint. Bolo does somewhat as well, but they still beat shopping in a store.

I searched for a slim space saving toaster and this one popped up. I didn’t know these type toasters existed but I am thoroughly pleased with my purchase. The item is just as described and we’ll work the money.
