The cord looks thicker in person than in the photos. I was concerned it would not really be a 12 gauge power cord, but was happily wrong. The body may be metal but the ends, which I suspect are more likely to take an impact, are plastic.I am using mine to connect power tools like a drill press, table saw, lunchbox planer, 2HP dust collector, etc) to a single 15a outlet while keeping those not in use powered off.

    Good quality overall with better switches than other brands. Long cord is a big plus, and also has room between outlet and switch to place labels.

    This power strip is perfect for our entertainment system. We love the individual switches for each socket unabling us to turn off devices we don’t need and avoiding the “vampire voltage.” We have it mounted on the wall inside our cabinet, out of the way, yet easily accessible.
