Oh boy, does this thing work well due to City code and ordinances? I am not allowed to run 220 Power out to my back lot unfortunately HDIS put a damper on my ability to use my welder where it is needed most. with this item I am able to use my welder on the 220 setting anywhere on my property. This thing works quite well and is easily able to handle the draw of my welder. I used it for a total of eight hours yesterday and I had no problems whatsoever. I would highly recommend this item. It is small compact and very high build quality. The item is extremely quiet. It has no smell to it. It operates as expected and goes above and beyond what I was anticipating. This definitely has good value for its price and if I am in need of another I would definitely buy again.

Using it for half a year, workung well. Not designed for moving, but it is a good exercise to move it arround the house.

I bought this to use with a 110V welder and it has performed as well as I hoped. The wiring in the rental house I'm living in is not so great and my welder seemed to be starving for voltage. This converter is allowing me to use my 220V outlet instead and now the welder performs excellent. With the built in breaker and 5000W rated capacity I feel extremely comfortable the converter is safe to use and the dual output capability is nice. I could plug in both 110V and 220V equipment at the same time, but I am hesitant to do so because the power cable only feels like it's 12GA or so. Because of the light input cable, I don't see how you could realistically trust running at full load for any length of time, but that is fine because I am almost always running the welder under 10A. Because of the light input cable, I am only rating at 4-star, but the converter is fully meeting my needs and I am happy with the purchase.

This seems to be a well built unit. I can run my 240 volt pump off if 120 volts now. The only drawback I'd that theirs no center tal on the 240 volt winding. It would be nice to be able to wire a small sub panel to this. Like it is I have to put a plug on my well wire and install a receptacle so that I can plug it up to the transformer when I need it.

It didn’t work for me I was trying to get more power to my Tesla car where we are currently renting and it blew the breaker and burnt the plug, I was trying to go from 120 to 240, I am returning the product.

I purchased an air compressor to fill Scuba tanks, but it was 220vac. The replacement 120vac motor was proprietary to the compressor manufacturer, and would have cost me almost $500.00! Instead, I purchased this step up/down transformer. The air compressor is 2,200 watts, and the transformer is 3,000 watts, so it easily supplies the power needed to run my Scuba air compressor on my boat, without having to either do some serious electrical work on the boat, or replacing a very expensive electric motor. Very pleased with the purchase!

I received very fast and the product do the job of transforming. What the producer do not specify it is the A necessary to achieve the maximum of 5000W up/down.1. from 110V to 220V you need an circuit with 60A breaker (optimal on NM wire) or 50A breaker on SE wire.2. from 220V to 110V you need an circuit with 30A breaker (optimal on NM wire) or 25A breaker on SE wire.This ask for the proper wiring to be done and proper wall plugs and transformer connection.ATTENTION! The transformer come with 15A wire and plug connector. Using this on 28A as announced will be fire hazzard and it is not well isolate.The transformer perform well on voltage transfomer and the correction on different amperage it is +/- 1%. but it is a very low quality product. In order to have 10A by plug (for same voltage) internal modifications must be performed. I do not suggest use as step-up or step-down and in same time as extenssion bar.I am satisfy for this very low end product (price) and look if they have an 10000W transformer. The optimization cost around 35U$ and hope to go 8 to 12 months. I use for data server and this one permit me to have 9800W 12V systems PSU. Rest to determine the internal optimal functional temperature V/A deviations.PS:I do not recomend for long run. Internal use poor quality of wiring and need more cooling adapter.
