5.0 out of 5 stars Great Computer at a Reasonable Price
This computer works as advertised. No issues setting it up. I use it as a home desktop. I purchased this model because it has a built in CD/DVD RW drive. I preferred this because I have several software apps on CD that I needed to load to the new computer. The computer is more than enough for my needs.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great System with Minor Issues
I would leave 5 Stars, but there’s a few issues holding it back from a Top-Tier experience. The Bad:1. The WiFi 5 Nano USB Adapter is junk, super slow. Plan on buying a WiFi 6 or better WiFi antenna. I bought a Netgear Nighthawk AXE3000 WiFi 6/6E…it works great!2. The provided wired keyboard and mouse are something you’ll probably toss, or give to your 5 year old.3. Windows Defender was not working properly, after several fix attempts had to reload Windows 11 (repair version). The Good:1. This system is fast in every aspect!!! What else is there to know.I paid $699.00 and when compared to other available Dell Desktops the hardware and value are there!
5.0 out of 5 stars This is an excellent choice for an office environment
This PC, Dell Optiplex 7020, with Core i5 CPU, has exceeded my expectations for set up and performance in an office environment. It replaced an old circa 2013 HP PC with Core i7 that had failed to be upgradable to Windows 11. This Core i5 outperforms that old Core i7 system buy leaps and bounds. This is a shorter tower than the old one and has fewer options for upgrades, but so far I've had no real reason to upgrade it.There is no cage for mounting a traditional sized HD or SSD, and the 2TB drive included with it is mounted on the motherboard. There are SATA connections that could be used for an additional HD or SSD, I suppose one could be mounted inside the tower using velcro.
5.0 out of 5 stars Quality of unit.
Worked right out of the box and there were no problems with loading software.
5.0 out of 5 stars Well designed, well made, runs Linux flawlessly.
I bought this PC with the intention of making it a Linux web server. The first thing I did was remove the included 1tb NVMe drive without ever booting Windows. I put in a 2 tb NVMe drive and a 4 tb NVMe drive on a PCIe adapter card from Sabrent. I added an 18 tb 3.5" SATA hard drive for backup use, then installed AlmaLinux 9.5 which was a piece of cake. I have a second 4tb NVMe stick coming which will replace the 2tb drive used for testing. I took out the included 32 gb of RAM and replaced it with two 32 gb boards for 64 gb total. Yummy!I will be shipping this server to a datacenter in Kansas City that accepts desktop computers. It is an excellent product. The BIOS supports automatic power on after a power failure, and it is a very attractive BIOS on a full HD monitor. It boots very fast, is good value for price. I like the fact that it does not have built in WiFi since in a server that would just increase the attack surface. It does not support PCIe bifurcation so I can't use a dual NVMe PCIe card, but 8 tb total will be plenty for an old man.
4.0 out of 5 stars Check the PSU specs, would be decent for office work.
What I got was what I ordered. The only issue is the PSU info was buried deep and I didn't see it before hand. Small form pc, half size odd PSU that even if I upgraded it there still wouldn't be enough power for a decent GPU. No AUX plug for a gpu on it. Decent work pc but no extra slots to upgrade ram either. I returned it (didn't even plug it in) because I need something I can put a bigger GPU in and received my refund within the estimated time frame. Thanks.
5.0 out of 5 stars Take windows 11 tutorial
Amazing speed compared to my old computer. Windows 11 takes some getting used to after years of using windows 10. But manageable with patients.
1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy a computer on Amazon!
If I could give 0 stars, I would! This Dell computer is sold and shipped by Azhut Store, part of the Bolo marketplace. I bought one, but when I had trouble keeping the USB wifi adapter connected to my router, I decided to contact Dell customer service. That's when I found out that Dell thinks this desktop is located in the United Arab Emirates and that I was unable to register my ownership of the computer. The only service options that I was offered were in the UAE or international options, none in the US.I was able to find a number for Dell warranty service on non-Dell website and called in. I spoke with a Dell technical customer service in British Columbia. She said that the computer was registered to Redington Gulf in Dubai, that it originally had a different operating system, and the warranty would expire in December 2025 (I just bought it from Bolo in April 2025). She also said that the normal warranty on these types of computers is two to three years.I put in a return request to Bolo and it was accepted. Now I'm removing all the stuff I loaded on it and have to get it boxed up and returned. What a pain! The attached pic shows that the original computer specs were relabeled, but part of the original label shows the original operating system (Ubuntu), the original warranty (1 year), and the original part of the world in which this computer was intended to be used.Beware - don't buy computers from Bolo as it doesn't protect you from shady companies like Azhut!
