Moisture from a diaper can harm your baby’s skin and make it more prone to chafing. When this happens a diaper rash may develop. Other causes of diaper rash include introducing new foods, using new brands of diapers, wipes, laundry detergent, etc., or using antibiotics.
Identifying Diaper Rash
Diaper rash usually shows up as a patch of pinkness or redness, and scaling skin where the diaper meets baby’s bottom. A bad case of diaper rash usually causes pimples, blisters and other sores on your baby’s buttocks, thighs or genital area. If the rash gets infected, it may be swollen and turn bright red.
