As a first time Mom, I was overwhelmed by all the different diaper rash options when my son was born. I’d gotten lots of samples of Aquaphor Baby, Desitin, etc, but none of those seemed to do the trick when my 5 day old baby came home from NICU with the worst rash ever. He had bleeding blisters after his tummy had a reaction to a new formula (we later learned he was allergic to dairy). I was applying a zillion different creams and ointments, but he was still in pain. That’s when I frantically called his pediatrician, and he told me to use Bordeaux’s Butt Paste. “THE RED TUBE,” he said.It worked pretty fast!! I recommend it to everyone now, especially since it’s plant-based and non-irritating.The cool thing about this set is that you’ll get a couple different ones to try out! There’s a full sized barrier ointment (purple tube), which is great for daily prevention. It doesn’t contain zinc, but has castor oil and 1% dimethicone instead. It creates a barrier to wetness and can be applied at every change. You also get a 2oz Max Strength tube to throw in your diaper bag, and a 14 oz Max Strength tub to keep at home. That one (red label) contains 40% zinc, which is what you want if a rash pops up. Keep your baby’s diaper clean and dry as often as possible, and apply a thick layer each time. It really works! It may leave a light layer behind on their skin, but *that’s what you want!* In the evenings, you can soak it off in a warm bath and wipe it clean. Avoid using too much soap when they have a sore booty!You might see some light tan stains left on the diaper. Just remember these are plant based ointments and have a slight beige tint. I also think this brand has a unique natural scent. It wasn’t my favorite, but it’s a heck of a lot better than nasty Desitin (which smells medicinal to me).They also throw in the cutest red diaper cream applicator! They’re a godsend to use. Makes application easier and your hands won’t get as messy. I use WAY less product when I use it. My hands were drying out so much from all the zinc (and postpartum hormones), so keeping the creams off my hands was a game changer.Is this set a good deal? From my calculations, you’ll save a few bucks. Maybe as much as $5-$6. I don’t think it’s a HUGE savings, but I’ll happily pay for convenience to get everything in one big box.I’ll totally buy this for future baby shower gifts!

The products work well to prevent diaper rash and treat it quickly if your baby does develop one. I love the travel size tube to keep in my diaper bag. It’s a great set from a tried and true company that would be a great baby shower gift as it’s bundled and presented nicely in a giftable box!

We use Bordeaux for our first child and it worked well, the only issue though was that the smell is a little strange kind of like playdoh smelling. Otherwise it’s not bad. However, for our second child we found that this gift sets applicator is awesome, no need to worry about applying the paste then finding a place to clean your hands while having your hands full with a potentially crying baby. Great gift set, definitely recommend.
