Ignore the person saying “iTs nOt aN rG”…I don’t own this guitar, but I went and played this at a guitar center and it was one of the best feeling and playing guitars there. RG is the shape of the guitar, so yes it is an RG, GIO refers to the series, this is Ibanez’s entry line for beginners or people shopping around for lower priced instruments. The Ibanez licensed floating bridge on this is amazing, I have the same one on my favorite Ibanez Standard Series RG450DXB. The Ibanez Infinity Pickups on this guitar are also amazing. Ibanez is really the only brand out there that can make low priced entry level guitars like this that shred and hold up with the $400 - $600 range of guitars!Also, Ibanez has one of the best Quality Controls of any of the major brands, Jackson and Dean right now have the absolute worst so stay away from those brands. Ibanez, Fender, and ESP/LTD are dominating right now especially for the price point of their instruments!You can’t go wrong with an Ibanez, even an Ibanez GIO!

I bought mine a couple of months ago, and I am impressed for as cheap as it is. I can fly up and down the neck effortlessly. Bends are crazy. The only thing I really don't like is the whammy bar because it doesn't stay in place very well, but overall, good guitar. Would buy again(if I needed another. Very durable)
