The peak flow meter is very simple to use. I charged it for two hours before using as it said to do in the directions. As soon as you turn it on and the screen says 'go' it's ready to use. Take a deep breath, blow as fast and hard as you can into the mouthpiece and the reading is instant, signified by two beeps. After you take three readings, the average is supposed to be your current level. There is an app that you can put on your phone to keep track of your readings, and I think the device stores 300 readings. My only issue is with the expiration date on the device. The one I received expires in only two years.

It measures only FEV1 and PEF. It does not measure FCV. Pity as this limits its usefulness. The FCV to FEV1 ratio is a useful number. I returned this, and plan to get a spirometer that also measures FCV and FEF.
