WHAT I PURCHASED: Key Nutrients, Electrolyte Recovery Plus, Orange flavor.WHAT I USE IT FOR: Electrolyte replacement (ER) for intense, high elevation gain hiking that causes a great amount of sweating and electrolyte loss. Hikes typically range from between 6 to 11 miles in length, and between 3,000 to 4,000 feet elevation gain.HOW I USE IT: One scoop/serving per hike, normally intended to be combined with 16 ounces of water, but I combine it with 28 ounces of water.OVERALL REVIEW:I had been using 1 PowerAde (zero sugar) bottled sports drink per hike for a while (plus regular water and food like bananas, energy bars, etc.) I was stocking up on PowerAde when it went on sale for about $0.70 per 28oz bottle. It was easy to pack/use and the flavor was good, but I wasn't happy with the minimal ER ingredients (similar to Gatorade). Also, the price has been going up in the last couple months (inflation!) PowerAde also only has a couple flavors that don’t have various color dyes (e.g., Yellow #5, etc.)I researched a lot of different ER products. The only ones that seems cost effective were powdered (versus bottled liquid). Of those I narrowed down to a few that were both cost effective (per serving) and had a good balance of ER ingredients. This product by Key Nutrients had the best over all balance. In fact it seems to be among the highest in electrolytes and one of the lowest in price. The cost per serving is around $0.35. That’s about half of the lowest PowerAde sale price I found, and yet the ER ingredient levels are far superior in this Key Nutrients product.When hiking using this ER drink I don’t seem to get as thirsty as fast, and more importantly I’m a bit less sore and for less time after hikes. This seems to indicate it is indeed working better as electrolyte replacement than PowerAde.FLAVOR REVIEW:The orange flavor tastes somewhat like Tang, as other reviewers have mentioned. It’s not bad, but also not great, which is part of the reason that I use more water to dilute it. I’m in it for the electrolytes not the flavor. That being said if it tasted awful like some reviewers say I wouldn’t drink it. It takes o.k., which works for me. Other reviewers have noted that it doesn’t mix completely and a little of it settles to the bottom, which is true. However, that hasn’t been an issue for me at all since all I do is simply shake the bottle a little before taking a drink and it mixes back up fine. I look forward to trying another flavor or 2 in the future, perhaps pink lemonade and raspberry.BOTTOM LINE – HIGHLY RECOMMENED: This is the best value I’ve found for ER combined with low cost. Also, I bought another container of the orange flavor today because Bolo has it on-sale for $4.50 off (so now only about $0.30/serving).RECOMMENDATION TO KEY NUTRIENTS COMPANY: Bring back the trial/sample option on your website or on Bolo. It would be great to try all the flavors before buying the full-size container and potentially having to hassle with a return. I’m willing to pay a fair price for a sample pack, as I’m sure are many others.

The Key Nutrients strawberry kiwi electrolyte powder has been a great way to stay hydrated without adding sugar or calories. The flavor is light and refreshing—not overly sweet—and mixes easily into water without any gritty texture. I like that it includes a full range of electrolytes along with vitamins, so it’s not just for workouts but also for days when I’m feeling a little drained. No weird aftertaste, and it’s nice knowing it’s made in the USA with clean ingredients. With 90 servings, it lasts a long time and is a good value for daily hydration.

I purchased this during prime day, when it was less than $30 because I often forget to drink water during the day and I'm pretty dehydrated by 5 or 6pm. I also love to bring hydration packets when i go to cons to stay hydrated during the day. My typical electrolyte powder is Liquid IQ or DripDrop powders, which come in little tubes and tastes really good, but i was looking for something with a little less waste.The tl; dr:I'm not a fan of the artificial taste, and don't like that it doesn't seem to dissolve in room temperature water. It does seem to help with hydration, though, hence the 3 stars. I tried the strawberry kiwi flavor.The verdict:I was hoping to find a new electrolyte powder that has less waste and more bang for its buck, but this was not it for me. I purchased the strawberry kiwi, and found it to taste artificial and, frankly, gross... So i have to chug it because it tastes so unpleasant. I'll probably stick to this one myself and share my other electrolyte powders with my friends, because those taste good. I also noticed that even after stirring for 45-60 seconds that it still hasn't dissolved in room temperature water, so it's gritty. (See pic) I just tried stirring it for several minutes, and it still didn't dissolve.Even though there are a lot of pluses, a big thing for me is the taste, in addition to whether it works, because that will determine whether or not i actually use a prodct like this. So I'll probably try one more flavor from this company after this one is gone, because I'm willing to say it might just be the flavor for me. I'll report back after that and update this review accordingly!Pros:- Economical and affordable, at 80-90 servings for $25. Single-serving powders tend to be 30-40 servings for about $30.- One big plastic package that's (hopefully?) recyclable.- Comes with a little measuring scoop, so it's easy to measure.- No carbs, calories, sugar, caffeine.- Made in AZ, USA.- Has additional vitamins and minerals other than sodium and potassium, like zinc, vitamin C, thiamine, biotin, copper, and more.- Does seem to help with hydration.Cons:- It tastes really bad; even though there aren't artificial additives, it tastes very artificial.- Doesn't dissolve, even after several minutes of stirring, so it tastes gritty.

I've always gotten the strawberry kiwi flavor of this electrolyte replacement powder which is very good! Since they're out of it right now, the least offensive flavor sounded like the orange. The orange tastes a lot like the powdered orange drink from the 60s called Tang. It is palatable but has a very artificial taste and aftertaste. I'd probably hold out for the strawberry kiwi hoping it comes back in stock.
Got poisoned
I took it twice for only for one day and I went to the emergency room as I was throwing up and couldn’t eat/drink anything with a pain in my whole body and fever. I didn’t think it was from the electrolytes but my husband tried a couple of sips and he got a very bad stomachache. We gave it to a friend to try it and he got the same symptoms. Horrible product and it has a terrible metal taste.

I work out for over two hours a day and sweat a lot, so I need to add electrolytes to my water to feel balanced. But this powder is just wrong on so many levels.First, the taste, I got the peach mango flavor, and while it’s edible, it tastes as artificial as it gets. Then there’s the digestion issue. Drinking this while being active causes massive stomach upset. I actually feel like I’m going to vomit because my stomach treats it like poison, and I end up burping constantly during my workout.As for hydration? Not a chance. The aftertaste makes you feel even drier than before you drank it. And since it makes you feel sick, you never actually feel okay.The only real benefit I noticed is if you go for, say, 10 days of training without any electrolytes, this might help—but only if you take it 3-4 hours before your workout. In that case, it does make you feel rehydrated after a few hours.I definitely wouldn’t recommend using this more than once every two weeks.Review Update:They provided full refund. I am changing from 1 star to 5 stars.
Great Taste - No sugar!
We have purchased the 5 flavor 40 pack of these electrolytes several times now. I love all of the flavors (especially the peach mango and pink lemonade). They are extremely convenient and efficient as you can bring them anywhere on the go with their individual packaging. These have been extremely useful while doing extended fasts, as they contain zero sugar or calories but all the necessary electrolytes to keep your energy up and stay hydrated. I love the price point coming in at just under $1 per pack. Also ich benutze es morgens nach dem aufstehen,im Sommer weil ich doch stark schwitze und zum Sport.Keine Krämpfe ect und ich habe das Gefühl(immer subjektiv) das es mich unterstützt.Der Geschmack lässt sich mit ahoi brause oder dieser türkischen limo (uludag orange)vergleichen, wenn diese mit Stevia gesüßt würden.Ich würde es mir nicht wegen des Geschmacks kaufen,finde diesen aber in Ordnung.Ich empfinde es auch als zu süß oder eher Zuviel „Geschmack“ oder Aroma im Produkt.Die Löslichkeit ist gut.Alles in allem ist das preis leistungsverhältnis top und es ist wirklich schwer Elektrolytpulver zu finden das nicht für Ausdauersportler ausgelegt ist und somit Zucker enthält.Ich habe 3 andere gefunden.Wobei 2 davon Brausetabletten und eins sachets zum direkt einnehmen waren.Einzige Kritik: Salz,also nacl,könnte enthalten sein.
