It's pretty easy to use, but it seems to work best when the laser is at the same height as the location you're measuring, so if it's up high, you'll need a ladder or something.Pro's: Redlight is ok to follow, green may be better, I don't know. It's very accurate when set up correctly.Cons: Light is bright at the point closest to the wall, but goes dim to the right and left as the distace from the laser increases. I was trying to measure a big panel across a 16 foot wide wall and the light intensity at the edges was quite poor.The lack of a way to make micro adjustments to move the projected light was an issue for me. Lost a lot of time trying to get the light where I wanted it.Overall it got the job done, but I wonder whether a less expensive one would have been just as good.

I bought this because I had to drill two holes in my wall, about 67" AFF and about 70" apart. Their measurements to the ceiling were 1/4" different. Was the floor unlevel or was it the ceiling? Laser level to the rescue.Here are some lessons learned and comments on other reviewers' critiques:• This thing seems accurate when placed about 10' from wall as measured with a Stabila 6' level. (I know, I could have used the Stabila for my job, but I wanted the laser.)• This is not like a flashlight, i.e., you can't hold it in your hand and shine it at any height on the wall and see a level line. You have to raise it to the height where you want the horizontal line to appear. This is where a tripod comes in handy. I used an old Bolo Basics 60" adjustable camera tripod. It worked great. The crank on the tripod lets you raise/lower the level precisely.• The laser mechanism rides on a gimbal. If you cock/tilt the laser body and the gimbal doesn't have enough "wiggle room" to keep things level, the laser blinks in warning. People who complain about this behavior are not keeping their laser upright enough. Probably aren't using a tripod.• Finally, and the reason I wrote this review, is the quality of the box — it is great! If you want to put your level away until you use it again at some later date, everything packs neatly and safely back into the box. Just toss that box in a drawer and everything will be kept safely together. It's better than most blow-molded plastic cases you get with tools, IMHO.All in all, with this laser I was able to quickly and confidently mark these two holes and hang a 6' x 4' framed tapestry perfectly. I actually delayed completing the job until I received the laser and I'm glad I did.

Nice unit. the Line (Red) is not easy to see in sunlight type conditions. During the rebuild of a home the only light source was the sun and trying to see this units lines in sunlight is not possible. The unit works very well in low light conditions, but is none existent in brighter lighting. The unit works as described and I was very let down as all my other bosh products are amazing. This unit was sub par for the price. The setup and use of the product is so simple and was just what i wanted.

honestly, wow. won't ever go back to bubble levels again.i used it to hang curtains near the ceiling. at first, i pulled it out of the box and thought to myself "how do i get this high enough?". initially i tried sticking it to my ladder, but it didn't go high enough for the horizontal laser to line up. then i realized you can freaking tilt this thing and it will auto-level. so you can have it a few feet below the object you're trying to level, aim it, and it will produce lines up near the ceiling. pulled out my bubble level to compare and it was always dead-on. crazy.but really, it's best with a tripod. i have a Smallrig RA-S280, about $60, which i already had lying around and this Bosch uses standard 1/4" tripod thread so it worked. being able to height adjust with the tripod made it far more reliable as if the mounting surface is even slightly wobbly, the laser will be unreliable. i also love the magnetic mount option for added flexibility where a tripod might not fit.

one of the best, on sale it’s a steal. use 3 of these for i installing or fabricating and it makes your job easier. all the good lasers are expensive. this one is obviously not as precise and as well made but i’ll buy these when they go on sale. take care of them and your laser alignment should be good for a long time. the magnet is good and useful. red lasers oc not as visible as the greens but in a shop setting it works great

Changing to 5 stars.I've finished a bathroom tiling project, an accent wall and hung many frames. I'm always impressed with how things turn out.Bang for buck, this is a great product.This is my first self-leveling laser level. Perhaps my comments are universal across the style of level.The pendulum inside is sensitive and takes some time to settle - which is understandable. I wish there was a position lock to eliminate the laser wobble as you move around the room.I attached using the provided mount to a door to get the height I needed in my small bathroom. It was nice to have in that scenario, but I find its use limiting. Making adjustments was easy, finding a mounting point at the same height as my desired location would have involved moving furniture around in other projects. I stick it on the tripod every chances I get.
Great product
This is a great laser leveler. It's incredibly handy and has already made a few of my home projects so much easier and faster. Whether hanging shelves or aligning pictures, the accuracy is great. This tool has been a huge time-saver. Highly recommended!
