Did you know the stock 2006 Honda Accord LX radio can die? I had no idea until it started buzzing, crackling my speakers and became unusable. Buttons worked, but I needed the radio to work.After a lot of review, I settled on the larger memory and ROM because the heat sink includes a built-in fan unlike the lower version. When summer hits, I don't need the device overheating and crashing like I read on other reviews.I'll say I was very hesitant based on many reviews but I took a gamble and boy did it pay off. The device has a smaller footprint than the stock radio which makes sense with technological advances. I will say the installation instructions/manual is not helpful at all. I watched at least 3 different youtube install videos and they were very helpful. I completed the install with a phillips screwdriver, body trim plastic tools and zip ties. I highly recommend using all three for the install.You're going to break some plastic during the install. Clips will be broken and you're just going to have to accept that. Once broken, any additional work is easier which I'll get to. The original install did take a bunch of time and putting it back together wasn't the easiest. The storage box kept getting caught on the cables which ended ripping the headunit's HVAC cable out, making the buttons useless. I had to remove everything again and ziptie the cords out of the way to make everything work again. Once cable managed and secured, everything worked perfectly except for the steering wheel button assignment. Still trying to figure that one out.Could xtrons done better with the documentation including listing the admin code to edit the canbus settings? Yes, and it's 126 fyi. Could the install be slightly easier by designing the cables better so they don't get ripped off when installing the storage box? Yes. Does it work and look really cool? Yes.If you don't mind putting in a bit of elbow work and research on youtube, this thing is a star. But do buy plastic trim prybars and zip ties. You'll thank me.

It’s definitely an upgrade for my 7th gen accord. Not as plug in play as believed but figured it out with help. Manual didn’t come with install instructions and had to essentially watch YouTube videos that weren’t even for my version of the system but alas it works. For those wondering the AC systems still work and Car Play connects automatically once paired with your device. I’m able to still use the steering wheel buttons due to a program on the unit to set custom controls. Hope this helps.

I highly recommend this unit. It takes some time to customize the UI and get the radio to work well, but think new phone type effort.

First, there are no instructions included for installation. Second, the white connectors will not snap into place. There are cables included that will not attach to the stereo. I was able to hold the connectors into place and turn the unit on. However the AC would just make a clicking sound. I've given up on these units that do not work.

The badFirst thing is the bottom of the radio face, below the climate control buttons, does not match the curvature of the cubie drawer, so you will have to remove the sliding door off to get a better fit. The radio reception gets interference when you turn on the rear window defogger. The radio have rebboted itself a few times in just two weeks of use. The clock runs a bit fast, in two weeks it is ten minutes ahead of my cell, wich I used to set the radio. Every so often the a/c control screen pops up, for no reason, while I'm driving. The amp in this unit is very underwhelming, if you have or are planning to upgrade your speakers, be prepared to add an amp for better sound.The goodThe radio functions farley good, the DSP and eq are very nice to fine tune the sound, although not the best. The controls are simple and easy to use.

Purchased this unit and installed it. The moment i press the defrost button my car will be stuck on defrost only with no way of turning off defrost will try to contact Xtron customer service.Update: once I was able to get in touch with Xtron customer service they were very quick to respond and kept in touch with me throughout the hole process. They sent me a new Canbus decoder box and that fixed all the issues. With everything working as it should this is a fantastic upgrade. I'll be updating my review from 1 star to 5 stars.

I've had this thing installed for a couple weeks now and I'm very impressed. The unit with 8gb ram seems to have fixed many of the issues that people have been complaining about. The only thing I would say is that it helps a lot to have some technical knowledge if you are going to install and set up this unit. There isn't much information out there on this specific unit to help you out, but if you do some research and have a little patience you'll be very happy with this radio. This is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. If there was more in depth information for this unit I would probably give it 5 stars or at least 4.5 stars. Everything is functioning great at the moment. My only advice is definitely get the better one, with 8gb ram. You won't be sorry!

Unit seems well made. Was easy to install although no instructions. Works great. Huge improvement over stock accord unit. Basically plug n play
