(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } This was ordered to replace an older Shark robovac that gave us several years of great service before one of the wheel motors went bad and it did not make sense to spend the $100 for a replacement part.  The RV2820 has improved obstacle detection and uses better technology to avoid bumping into objects.  It advertises "Active Lift and Lower" to handle thick rugs or thresholds and seems to be happy with areas where our old vac would sometimes call for help.Battery duration seems to be the same as our old unit, it typically covers 750 sqft and returns to dock with 20-25% battery left.  During the initial couple of runs, it returned to dock before finishing to charge and continue. I turned off this option.This is the third Shark robovac we've paid for, the second is happily cleaning another part of the house.  If we ran them at the same time of day, there is an area where they could possibly see each other and exchange notes.  I wounder what they would talk about?  Perhaps it's best we don't let them organize....

I have been using this since December of 2024. Did a lot of research online and found that process to be very confusing, and prices get way out of control real fast. Watch the model numbers - it is almost impossible to find out (even from You Tube) exactly what the vacs in each series do as well as which are the most up to date model. More on that later. I plan on updating this post after I've put some miles on it, but so far it is help me keep my yellow labs dog hair picked up off of dark wooden floors.One other note - don't expect it to be perfect. It can't get everything you can get to with a regular vacuum. Also, decide what is most important and stick to it! Some of the things I was looking for in this vac was overall good reviews, HEPA filter, bagless, and two brushes. I was not looking for the mop feature at all !!!!!!One other note - I wanted one with two edge brushes and returned the first one I bought because it didn't have that feature. When I saw that this one did list two brushes, I jumped at it because it had everything else I wanted. The two brushes meant that it came with a replacement brush. I did not return and wished I could have found a reasonably priced one with all of these features.Update - April 2025I initially gave this vac a 5-star review and agreed with many others that it is a "game changer." After using the vac for a few months now - I'm not so sure. The vac cleans the best on the Matrix clean option, but that is only offered when you choose one room at a time. Since it is a longer process (but does a thorough job) the battery life for one room is terrible. I am always in the situation of the vac not finishing an area, taking 3 or more hours to recharge, and having to get out a stick vacuum to finish the job. Then if it finishes in the middle of the night, it will resume cleaning, and I have to send it back to the dock. Also, the edge brush seems to be wearing out quickly.I wanted this vacuum to help with yellow dog hair n dark wood floors, and while it does make a difference, I still have to get the sections it missed. I have remapped my house three times to maximize the best possible layout.So, I am changing my rating to 3 stars.

This was supposed to be an “up grade” from the 2 year old Shark iQ I currently have… what a JOKE!1. Sounds like an old car that is about to break down any day now. Maybe that’s what other reviewers were referencing it being loud.2. Stays about a foot away from all objects. Due to this it leaves a lot of uncleaned floor area throughout the house. Basically patches missed around the house.3. Won’t go under furniture like my current one can.4. It avoids my dining chairs and table. My old one will actually clean under the table and chairs. FYI.. I have a bar hight table and chairs so there is no reason for this other than it reading there are legs there so it won’t/can’t clean under it.5. The so called “air blowing” to pull out dirt from baseboards and corners is a joke as well!Purchasing this stupid things makes me feel like I have been scammed. So disappointing! How this thing is getting good reviews, I have no idea. Maybe they didn’t have one previously to compare it to or the one they had to compare it to is less than basic model with no emptying station. But like I said, my old one is a little over two years old and works WAY better overall than this model.Note: the hight of the actual robot cleaner is about 4 1/2” from the floor up. Since the measurements on this thing only includes the base it self and not the actual robot, I thought I would share that in here for anyone looking for that info.UPDATE: return/refund process is EXTREMELY long time frame. I’m not going to state the average time frame in here because I think that goes against Bolo “ review criteria” which will result in this update not being posted at all. But thought it would be worth noting the turnaround time for receiving a refund is set forth by the seller and the item has to go through a process, you shipping it back, them receiving it, an inspection process (lengthy time), company putting in for the refund to be processed (lengthy time), then, once they have actually got around to processing/putting in for a the credit to be processed , you receiving the refund within your banking turnaround timeframe.

I had my doubts about this kind of device, but my son with 2 shepherds and a retriever in the house absolutely raved about it. So, da wife also though it was a good idea and here we are.After one run to map the house, and two actual vacuum runs, I too am duly impressed. It collected about a fluffy softball size batch of dog hair (one terrier), dust and whatnot on each run, then went back to home base and evacuated into the reservoir on the charger. Easy container to dump out into the dustbin. Noise level is reasonable compared to a full size vac and the terrier only barked at it for a minute then lost interest. Win-win. Only unknown is durability, but it works reasonably well and actually deals with 3/4" drop into certain rooms going both in and out without much fuss.
