5.0 out of 5 stars A solid printer!
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } I have had it for over a month now and I have gone just one day without printing something. Right out of the box, it works wonderfully and is a lot less hassle than the reviews led me to believe. In fact, I tried tinkering with settings when I thought it needed it a couple of times, when really, all I needed was to calibrate the machine from the app on my phone (or from the device). Very simple! Setup was easy and with OrcaSlicer, prints are very easy!To be fair to some people who have complained, I had to learn to use the calibration option a couple of times when prints didn't look great or they started off not too good. Auto leveling helps a lot too. That's perfectly okay. You can't learn if you don't mess up a few prints. I am still doing that, but my successful prints are far more than the ones that don't turn out. I have also learned that it helps to modify the gcode to print a line before it does it's nozzle cleaning routine, to get the first piece of filament out of the way.As a word of caution, don't use ChatGPT. There isn't enough content out there to draw from and so it will give you bad advice! Printables.com is your friend. It's quiet, clean, and fun. Definitely worth the purchase!
5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best single-color printers on the Market
Having several printers (Bambu, Creality, Anycubic, and now this one), it's easy to fall in love with the printer.Well Built and its Speed & Quality beat most of my existing printers.Bought 6 of them and will probably order a few more (I own a small print farm).I chose the Pro version since if I bought the regular version, I would add the enclosure + camera, and probably order a 0.6mm nozzle. If you add the costs of all of those, you almost reach the cost of the Pro over the regular one.The printer is noisy. The nozzle cooling fan seems to be running at high speed and causes "some" noise. I will explore how to silence that one.Another Issue you might end up with is that the PTFE tube of the filament seems to be a bit longer on some of the printers I got. This causes it to touch the top cover and stain/scratch it. So, before running some prints, verify if it touches the top cover. If it does, I would recommend cutting it a little (1/2 Inch).
5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun. Highly recommend
First time ever using a 3d printer and this one is amazing. Been printing with it non stop since we got it. I would definitely recommend getting the DIY enclosure kit for it but be prepared to get a few rolls of filament just to make the enclosure. The sound reduction from the enclosure is a definite must in my opinion. So far the only failed prints I have had have been from my own fault. Would recommend to make sure what ever you have the printer sitting on is very stable because it will shake from the printing if you have it on a flimsy table. Would definitely recommend this one for beginners like myself. Changing the nozzles is extremely easy as well. I made the mistake of not checking to make sure the filament sensor was on and ran out of filament when my kiddo was trying to print a movable dragon (see photo). The sensor by default is turned off. Would recommend making sure it’s on. Also included a photo of the enclosure we made for it with the DIY kit.
1.0 out of 5 stars There is no quality control or testing done
I received this printer on Feb 14th and through the holiday weekend I spent probably 24 working hours troubleshooting and trying to diagnose issues with this printer. I've attempted to use orca, cura, and flashprint, and none of them provided consistent results.Print success rate - My print success rate with this printer was probably 10%, with 90% of prints failing. I've auto leveled, vibration tested, manually leveled using the paper method, tried 4 different filaments (all PLA), modified probably 20-30 different settings at least 20 times each. Nothing I did would get the filament to extrude consistently across the bed. The bed also bowed up in the middle, so when the 4 corners were level the middle would scrape.Print quality - The print quality was actually really good, and quick when the print would work. I came away with some decent small prints, but could not successfully print anything taller than 20mm.Adhesion - I attribute a lot of my adhesion problems to the uneven first layers due to horrible extrusion, but unless I used a brim with everything, the print would eventually warp in 1 of the corners and eventually either fail or have terrible print quality. Some prints the hot end would eventually iron out the surface and it would succeed, but would have an uneven base.Build quality - The build quality was solid, it felt very sturdy, and built like a tank with only the base being plastic. My printer did develop a buzzing sound when moving along both x and y axis.Overall I can not and refuse to recommend this printer. Despite the good print quality, if I have to troubleshoot after every print and only 1 in 10 succeed then print quality really means nothing.Check the reddit for flash forge and the new 5m printers, my experience is not uncommon. Some youtubers are raving about it, and maybe they received a good unit, but the inconsistency with this product is awful, and you're taking a big gamble if you purchase one.
4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty decent. Single color workhorse
This thing is a workhorse. I am ashamed to admit I've run this thing basically every day since I got it. Would be 5 star if it was easy to make it print multicolor. Other printers prices are catching up, or should I say coming down. It's going to be hard for this to stay competitive. No regrets probably because I felt I would buy a second machine in a short time period. Single color is a go, multicolor look elsewhere.
Very solid, with only a couple niggles.
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } The setup is easy. Just read the instructions and you'll be fine. The printer setup goes smoothly, except for when it cleaned the nozzle, it moved to the rear of the machine and scraped the nozzle across the plate scratching it at the very back, the print area isn't affected by this but the machine shouldn't have done this. It should have asked the user to make sure the nozzle was clean, done a bed level/calibration.Other than that it has performed well, it prints fast, the build quality is good and solid. The screen is not capacistive, but rather a resistive type, similar to something like a Nintendo DS (bottom screen). Making it best to use a small stylus for best results. The resolution is good. The other thing that could be improved is integration and instructions for Orca Slicer to have the Devices tab work. It's a bit disappointing that it isn't explained, as to why it doesn't show, which programs you might need (mainsail?). The wifi setup should also be explained better, I had to use a youtube video to help me along there.Print quality is solid, it is very fast, I slow it down on the perimeters to improve the print quality. Uploads and prints directly from Orca, which I quite like.Overall I'd give it a 8.5. Mostly down to the bed scratching, which didn't need to occur, and the device tab in Orca not working and no explanation/instructions on how to make it activate properly (without being told you have to use Orca Flashforge version.)
Fast and easy to setup and use.
Super fast setup and use. Print speeds are quick. 3rd print in I committed to a bigger dragon, went to sleep and woke up to a flawless print. Enclosure keeps the noise to a minimum.
Easy to use and reasonable finish
The Flashforge Adventurer 3M was fairly easy to set up, and has printed reliably with good quality. I’m finding it a bit noisy, and have bought the enclosure kit to reduce it. Running at 80% of the top speed also seems to help.I’m using Orca slicer to make the g-code file for printing and found it pretty straightforward.Overall good value for money and a quality build.
Excellent Out of the Box Printer for beginners
The media could not be loaded. I had purchased two printers from a different company on here and both had constant issues and I had to return both. Then I got this.. All I can say is WOW. It is so easy and user friendly. Straight forward pretty much from out of the box. I love that it's enclosed, super quiet. We are printing while watching tv. There is two doors to enter the printer, top and side. It didnt fit a spool of filament that was super small but I just printed a hook that attaches to it. The bed raises up and down so really no problems with bed levelling and foolling around with settings. The internal camera only works with one of the two slicer programs that comes with it. If you use Orca slicer you can't monitor the camera from the printer. A mild workaround. The FlashPrint 5 Slicer is simple to use, and you can see the camera from the computer but limited settings. That being said, I have been able to do all I need with it. There is no app to control remotely, but I have attached a smart plug on it to shut it off if things go wrong. (which it hasn't needed to do). I am utterly delighted with this printer. Great for newbies and people who don't like to tinker and just want their prints to work the first time.
Probably one of the best 3D printers on the market
I was looking at different 3D printers but ended up purchasing this Flashforge 5M. After testing it for many hours on this machine I 'am so glad I did go with it. This machine is a beast with excellent prints, fast and very easy to setup and use. If you are in the market for a 3D printed don't hesitate to purchase any of the Flasforge brands and the customer service is great! and its open source with Orca-flashforge or Orca Slicer that hooks up to your smartphone too..
