It has never stayed on the cook mode as it always went to keep warm” now it will not cook at all, it isn’t even a year old. I contacted the company and its an a to z so no idea whats going to come of it

I can fit max 11 cups of rice with 20 cups of water. Definitely not 40 cups.

If you're the kind of person who makes rice for every meal and/or need to make large quantities at once, this is a great way to do that. Most of my rice cookers have been suitable for 1-2 cups at a time, or 6-10 cups at a time. This thing obliterates those with 40 cups of capacity.It comes with a large serving ... paddle? It's far too big to call it a spoon and it's mostly flat so I'm going to call it a paddle. Imagine a plastic shallow spoon that's as wide as the palm of your hand and about as long as your hand+fingers before the handle starts. So yeah...it's the next best thing to just digging into the rice with your bare hands (which isn't advisable with it being hot and all, but maybe after it cools?)I do tend to eat a lot of rice but I might have gone a bit overboard with this. I'll just look at it from the most positive angle: If I'm cooking a small amount of rice (which we'll say 3-4 cups of rice is small here), it does seem to cook it fairly quickly. If I ever decide to make half a bag of rice in one go, this is going to be a huge help.I'd have to say if I have one complaint, it's that the audible "click" of the cooker going into rice warming mode isn't as loud as I've heard on other rice cookers. It still works, and if you take the time to look you can see the obvious "red light is now amber" signal that the rice is ready to eat, but if you are used to listening for the "CLICK" then it may not be as easy to know when to check your food.Another minor complaint would be that the lid is a solid metal piece. I'm used to being able to look inside to see how the cooking is coming along (for those times when I use the cooker for things other than rice), but it cooks small amounts so quickly that this isn't really a big deal, and I'm not sure how it would be trying to cook 40 cups with a glass lid. Maybe that causes issues I haven't thought about?Every other aspect of this device is great though. It's sturdy, it looks nice, it holds a ton of food, it cooks quickly and efficiently, and it's everything you expect from a good rice cooker.

I have owned this rice cooker for about 1 years now and probably don't use it as much for rice as I should due to it's size but it works great when I do.It is easy to use, clean and always makes perfect rice with no water mess you might find with cheaper products. Yes, it is not cheap, it's masive but it cooks rice to perfection with no fuss and I expect it to last, unlike so many things these days. I love the design and the functionality of this device.Whether I cook Thai jasmine, basmati or short grain, it comes out as it should. Beans rehydrate with no issue. You just need to adjust water ratios slightly depending on what you're making. The machine must be forgiving because I have yet to have any rice or beans come out badly.It's massive though which I wanted because of it's keep warm setting. I've used it for so many parties and family gatherings, serving chili, meatballs or other warm foods. It does have a non-stick coating so make sure to only use plastic or wooden utensils. I wish I could find a stainless steel pot or they sold it as an option.
Can be used for many things
I used this to keep spaghetti sauce warm, and it was great. The pot has a non-stick liner which is removable, so It is easily washable. It is quite large so it's not only good for cooking a large volume of rice, you can put soups and stews in this as well. This comes with a measuring cup and a spatular like tool.
Simple but works nicely
Just thought I'd mention it again, be aware that this is a commercial-sized rice cooker, not your typical ones. At a massive 40 cups of rice you'll have enough to feed 50-100 easily with this bad boy. I have massive family gatherings from time to time and a normal rice cooker just isn't enough, hence this rice cooker.As expected, it cooks rice completely fine and is what's expected. I've only owned a few rice cookers over the years since they last forever, and they're hard to get wrong since they only really have one function. This cooker does exactly what's needed, which is cook a lot of rice at a time and do it well. All you have to do is, of course, adjust your measurements which you can easily do with online calculators and whatnot.Since it's straightforward, I will mention as well that it comes in secure packaging. It has the styrofoam in the right places to prevent the cooker from being banged up. The cooker also comes with a measuring cup and rice paddle. The paddle is actually sized well for the cooker and has a more durable feel compared to the usual paddles. It has a thicker feel which helps in scooping massive amounts of rice. The measuring cup though is just alright, it doesn't have a handle which isn't the biggest deal but would've helped in gripping it, especially if you're using it to hold water. I'm only using it as a rice grain scooper so it's fine.Overall, it's worth it for those who have large gatherings from time to time. Hopefully my cooker will last for years to come as all my previous ones have.
