I have discovered that kids have become more destructive the longer I teach. These are made from a strong wood & seem very durable. Only time will be the true test. So far through drop & throws they have come away unscathed.

Touch Us solid wood turkey dinner set is very nice. I have been a Pre-K teacher for over 10 years and have many wooden cutting food sets including the Melissa & Doug rotisserie barbecue set with the chicken. These are solid wood with nice painted details and well attached velcro. The edges are sanded smooth and rounded, sized for grasping with small hands.This set comes with many new items that will enhance my large collection. It comes with a nice serving tray that holds the entire dinner and a variety of new cutting items. The carrots are good sized, comparable to my other sets and have nice felt leaves. I really like the detail on both sides of the onions, cukes and lemons. There are very few potatoes in my food cutting sets. These are a bit dark colored inside and out but are a great vegetable to include.My favorite piece of this set is the turkey, especially the drumsticks. The turkey comes apart into 5 pieces and is fun to cut and divide between students. My kiddos can pretend different roles such as cook, restaurant server, customer or family members in a home setting.These are just the right size for our classroom Farm to Table Kitchen set. There is a ton of learning here when students pretend to plant these items or raise them. They can then pretend to be farmers and bring their crops and animals from the land to the table. Plenty of rich learning through play opportunities here for my 4-5 year old students.This is a nice classroom set with plenty of open-ended play opportunities for learning depending on how a teacher might set up the learning environment. The velcro is strong at first (especially the potatoes) but after a few pulls on and off a child should be able to manage. If I could improve anything in this set it would be to include a knife for cutting. Fortunately we have 5-6 knives around the classroom with other sets to use. Good purchase and asset to our classroom play manipulatives.

This adorable wooden turkey/chicken dinner playset is sure to give alot of enjoyment for little ones. Some of the items included are...Lemon chicken recipeWooden tray with 2 handlesA turkey/chicken with removable legs and wingsSalt and pepper shakers2 potatoes2 carrots2 mushrooms2 zucchini slices2 onion slices2 lemon wedgesI like that this set comes with everything that is needed to make dinner. There is slight gap between the two pieces of velcro holding the potatoes, mushrooms, and turkey/chicken pieces together which is a welcome feature as with some playsets the pieces are so close together that kids have trouble getting a wooden knife (not included) between play food to cut it, this food works great for cutting and separating. The tray that comes with this wooden set has a ridge around it to keep food from sliding off, some trays from other food sets are flat.The only not so positive things about this set is that even though everything came well wrapped, the turkey/chicken had a gouge at the top side (see pic). I would have liked to see orange carrots (these are a brownish orange in color more like the color of a carmel).All in all this is a wonderful playset and should last a very long time!

The stickers placed on the outside of the box is in a shape of the male appendage with the word "Touch Us". My child is 3 and this is completely inappropriate for a child's toy.The toy itself is small for the price...

If you love Melissa & Doug products you will love this set too. The wood feels so smooth in your hands and the pieces are painted well too. The v pieces function well. Not all of the pieces separate into two parts. Not all pieces have a velcro feature. I wish they all had both!!! Plus a little wood play knife to chop the mushrooms and potatoes or cut the turkey would be a fun addition to this set. The tray all of the pieces stand on is lovely and well made. I can highly recommend this product but I would love to see "more" velcro features in the future. It would be so fun if the salt and pepper shaker had a screwtop lid to open and close to help develop hand strength. It doesn't but its a fantastic set. I am so happy to add it to our Montessori work shelf. It should last for many years. I am very happy with this purchase.

I was surprised at how small the pieces are but the set is still cute. However I wouldn't have chosen it if I would have realized how many small parts came with it as I also have small children in my home. Trust me the pictures are way better than the actual product on this one
