This is a fantastic kit for teens and adults alike. It contains everything to get a number of different projects started. The getting started guide and code needed for the various projects are on GitHub in the Robotistan/REX-8in1-V2 repo. Enjoy!I hope this review helps you make an informed purchasing decision!

Assemble is easy and quick. The parts are of good quality. Every now and then I has some connection issues though. So, I was bit hesitant to use it in competitions and more using it as hobby and at home experiments.

This robotics kit is really, really.... and I do mean REALLY.... good. I agree with the other reviewers saying it is a fantastic beginner kit for kids, but honestly it would also be great for adults. It comes with everything you need, and trust me. Your newly constructed robot will move and operate perfectly. It brings a lot of wonder and joy to all ages.

The media could not be loaded. I honestly thought this would be more of a younger kids toy you just build and it works. This is definitely more advanced and perfect for somebody interested in robotics and programming. There’s step by step instructions and this is great for entry level to Arduino and includes a USB cable to connect to your PC or MAC. I just copied and pasted the code and uploaded it to the robot, then it just works. If you don’t upload the code to the robot using a computer, it doesn’t work properly… it will move a foot then just not move anymore…The plastics feel a little bit on the brittle side and fitment/design is a 9/10. The printed instructions have very small fonts, but it’s rewarding to get everything working. This is 100s of hours of entertainment for anyone interested in automation, coding, building, software, mechanics, pretty much mechanical engineering and computer science.The sky is the limit for customization and games you can play that this is definitely a fun and challenging kit.

This REX evolution 8in1 robotics kit is the perfect STEM activity for kids 8-12. The best thing about it is that there is more than one option, and they can build and build. Everything about this kit is top notch. It comes with everything they will need, and I think that it would make a great gift. The instructions are easy to follow, and this will provide hours of fun and learning.

I got this as a gift for my seven year old grandson who loves the tv show Battlebots.I went through the kit to make sure everything was there and appreciated how organized it is.There is a quick start guide and instructions for each of the 8 different robots this kit can make.Everything comes in it's own toolbox and just looks like tons of fun.I am gonna sit on it until Christmas and give to my grandson, who will be eight at the time. That is on the lower end of the recommended age, but we work with legos a lot and I believe, with my assistance, that he will have no problem building these robots.
