Even in side by side comparisons against professionally installed lighting these lights 100% compete - its all about preference. Many professionally installed systems are designed to show the actual LED when illuminated. This Govee product, however, faces downward and creates a cone of light on your house - no visible bulb unless viewing from below i.e. second story.The product was well packaged with easy to understand instructions. Plenty of additional support available online. I used their help line the first time I installed the product to go over some technical information and they were extremely helpful.The 3M adhesive on the back of the LEDs is no joke. The kit also includes clips that can be added with a screw( the adhesive on these is good enough to free a hand up, but that's about it). There are not many clips included, maybe one for every 4-5 bulbs? Maybe less? I originally purchased an additional 500 clips and used one per puck on two separate systems. When it came time to do my own house with the 200ft kit, I decided to try only using the adhesive on each LED and zero clips. After a year of Nebraska seasonal changes the lights look as good as they did when installed. I still use clips sporadically when installing for others, can also be helpful for splices and holding wire tight.The only thing I don't like about these lights is no available channel from Govee to hide the wire between lights. Color matching the eaves is easy enough, but for a really sharp look running a piece of vinyl (or whatever surface your working with) between the pucks is the way to go. Raceway channel or something similar is the solution I've come up with when requested. Pretty small gripe that is solved through other methods, just think they are missing the $! Make it plastic, on a roll, with adapters that snap over the pucks.Wiring between peaks, around windows, etc. can potentially require splicing. Have a good pair of small wire strippers and the included connections are easy enough to figure out. One thing to be aware of is each time you splice, you are adding resistance to a low voltage system. Too many splices and you could end up needing additional boosters. I found this out doing a funky roof with lots of transitions and splices. You will also obviously need accessible power. Can simply be an extension cord tucked behind a gutter or most conveniently plugged into an attic or soffit outlet. I add a water proof 9"x11"x5" access panel for power sources plugged in outside, there is quite a bit of cord to hide.The Govee app has a lot going on, but with a few tutorials you can have your lights programmed the way you want. There are tons of premade scenes/styles while its also super easy to create your own. YouTube is full of ideas. One reason I love Govee is how easy it is to integrate their products together. I have 10 different Govee models around my house, and I can easily control all or one of them instantly. Setting a timer to use my outdoor lights as security lighting is a great feature.These aren't the lights with questionable quality. This is a great product with excellent tech support. If you like the look of the Govee light cone, this is worth every penny!

The good:Once installed, they are bright and fun. We don't have to hire someone to hang lights or worry about falling off a ladder every year. You can save multiple scenes and easily light up your house for different holidays.Our neighbors have commented on how much they like them. Our elder neighbors are recently retired and considering this purchase, because they pay to have their light hung every year, and it adds up.They are Griswald-family Christmas lights bright. You might want to dim them or your neighbors will hate you. You can do this in the app.Word of Warning: You will need a Plan Before You Install:Don't assume you can figure this out as you go and start hanging these. My husband measured carefully and mapped out where he wanted to place the lights before he started hanging them. I gave him a hard time (lovingly) about this, but it was very wise of him. Even with his thorough plan and blueprint (he's extra with his engineering brain), we faced some challenges, because we ran out of jumpers for the multiple non-continuous jumps/pitches we have on our roofline. You need the extensions with the transformer box on it, because when the line is super long, the end of the line might not get enough power to function well. ****They do not sell Govee Brand jumpers with the transformer box separately.*** You can find aftermarket extensions, but it can be super confusing to someone who doesn't know how to strip and splice wires. Youtube has some smart people that figured it out though.The bad:The app is confusing. We didn't want the lights to blink or move. It's not obvious how to do that. Blinking/moving is the default mode.The app looks like a casino (think Temu or Shein), which is annoying to my eyes.You will need more hanging brackets than you are given to keep the wires tucked up there neatly. These are easy to find separately.As mentioned above, they do not sell extension pieces separately, so plan carefully. You will have to buy aftermarket extensions or pay exorbitant prices eBay. Or buy another full Govee kit.They do not have technical support. They are based in China.You can connect it to your wifi, but you probably shouldn't. I'm not a computer security expert, but the less access to your home network, the better. However, it probably doesn't matter because the app is on your phone, and your phone connects to your home network. So, it is what is is.

These Govee outdoor lights have made my backyard the coolest spot in the neighborhood! The colors are super bright and vibrant, perfect for parties or just relaxing outside at night.App control is amazing - I can change the whole vibe from inside the house. They've held up great through rain and wind over the past few months. Love setting them to music mode when we have friends over for BBQs.Easy to install and my neighbors keep asking where I got them. Definitely makes any outdoor space look incredible!

My old Christmas lights died and was looking for a new wow factor to light up our house. These lights are fantastic - so many great pre set light programs, ability to DIY program light patterns as well used shared programming developed by other Govee light owners. I have had so many compliments on the lights from complete strangers asking where to buy the lights and how to instal. Great purchase and am extremely pleased with the quality, variety and ease of use for these permanent lights that are built to withstand our Canadian climate.1 year update. Had an issue with partial lights going off and Govee customer service quickly sent a new set with apologies. Also, added 2 Govee Triad floodlights this year to compliment Permanent lights - many of the same pre set programs and self DIY and shared DIY with other Govee users and at 5,000 lumen total brightness they are 5 x the brightest LED flood lights on the market. The Govee user's community has grown exponentially in the last year and there are now 100's of light programs to save and apply with a click on the Govee phone app. You can have a different light program for every occasion and I use them as everyday white lights of any temp shade from warm white to ice blue white. They are permanently installed - so no need to pay for instal/takedown each year so I am saving $250 a year on that yet I have the best and most versatile lights in the neighbourhood ! Seriously great products and excellent customer service to boot. Keep up the good work Govee !
Awesome Product & Support
The media could not be loaded. 200’ pro set Came with everything to install, including for splicing, extensions & connecters. The app makes it incredibly easy to switch the lights for any occasion. I had an issue that the light stopped working after two weeks, Contacted Goalie through the app within an hour. They had a replacement set shipped to my house and the lights are working fantastic again and have been for a while now.Incredibly fun and easy to use product with amazing customer support five stars just isn’t enough highly recommend!!!!
Absolute Garbage. Save your money. Faulty Power Supply
Permanent lights? These things are barely temporary. Pros? Id hate to see the regular version, if these are considered pro anything. Paid $1000+ for these lights installed, and after 10 days, they no longer work. Do not connect to Bluetooth. Nothing. Power supply is flashing green. Upon a quick google search, found out that there are an awful lot of people with the same problem on the 200' set. Faulty power supply, or just not powerful enough to run the set. My installation was very straight forward. No splices. Used the booster after the 5th string as instructed. Reached out to govee on the "rapid replacement" within the app. Yes they're going to send out a new power supply. Problem being, nobody seems to know when. Far from "rapid" anything. So now I'm stuck with no Christmas lights, after dropping $1000+ on these. To say I'm disgusted is an understatement. Do a quick search for the flashing green power supply before purchasing these. You have been warned
Ensure the area you plan on sticking the lights.
Love the lights so far. They look awesome!! I used some brake cleaner to clean the surfaces prior to sticking. Also used #6 square head screws instead of the ones supplied. Made installing them so much easier. I highly recommend them. Hopefully they last a long time given the price. Seem to be high quality, even down to the boxes they came in.
Excellent Lights
Very happy with our Govee lights, they look great and the possibilities for light combinations seem to be endless. The AI function in the app is also really cool. The quality of the kit is very high with everything you need in the box. Highly recommended.
