It is made for a lot younger than 5.But this time of year my grandsons love to hunt different types of bugs, worms & especially frogs. Telling them bath time isn't so hard anymore. It works well!! Price is reasonable. 5 to 7 year old love showing how they can make "Mr. Frog" go longer better. Grandma loves watching them play w/ this more than on the phone.

The item is really cute, but there are a couple of cons, including the inconsistency with how the toy is described:(1) The toy is not mold-free; water gets inside and will need to dry out sufficiently to avoid mold setting in. Because of its design (openings for water to get in), its ease of cleaning is diminished.(2) The mechanism that makes the toy going water is not efficient. It requires constant and continuous action, which is not ideal for a toddler who wants the toy to operate for any amount of time (even a minute).In all, I think it’s cute for use in a pool/water table, particularly if you just use it as a floating toy rather than one that moves. I probably wouldn’t purchase it again though.

This little toy was SO cute, broke my heart that it was horribly designed. The "fan" that you wind up to make it go sucks in water as soon as you put it on the surface of the water, so each time I had to hold it up and let the water drain before rewinding it. It will quickly sink as it putters along. Unfortunately, because it really is so cute.

The media could not be loaded. My son loves this toy. I can see why people would be worried about mold but for the price I see it being a bath time frequent toy.

You wind it up and it boots around the bathtub. I hold the propeller against my arm while winding it, though. It hurts if it hits your skin out of water.
Cute Toy, But Doesn’t Work as Expected
I bought the DUCKBOXX XX Frog Bath Toy thinking it would be fun for bath time, but it didn’t quite meet my expectations. When you wind it up, it doesn’t go very far and tends to spin in circles instead of moving forward like I expected.The design is cute and the materials seem fine, but the functionality is disappointing. It might entertain younger kids for a little while, but if you’re looking for a bath toy that swims properly, this one might not be the best choice.
