This shaver is lighter & does a better job than my old Braun. I have been using an electric since the mid '70s, since I went into the armed forces (you had to shave every day). My face couldn't take a Trac II everyday so I went to a foil shaver (on sale in the PX). I tried Norelco, but that shaver irritates my face after a while. Have always had Braun, the heads always gave me a clean shave, guys were surprised of the close shave I got from my Brauns. Electric shavers didn't have a close shave reputation back then. I'm 71 & this is my 3rd one. I think the Braun shaver is getting better. I liked the plastic shell of the old shaver model better, took a beating, protected the shaver in travel. Have to wait & see with this new style travel case. Nowhere to carry a cleaning brush. The shaver is quiet compared compared to my old shaver. Braun's battery life & recharging life has always been very good. I've always found Braun comfortable to hold in various ways when shaving. Blades last me a year, sometimes more. Price is on par with others make of shavers. I've had 3 in just over 25 years.

I have had the Braun 7 for over 3 years and was hesitant to go for the Bare bones Braun 8. The 7 had more features back then including adjustable shave performance( that I actually always kept on high...lol), for Sicilian beard. Well I was pleasantly surprised! The 8, at a much lower noise level actually performed better and with less strokes than the 7 and is very gentle on the skin as was the 7 for me. The 8 did not need the adjustable shave performance feature for the quality it provided certainly surpassed the 7. I locked in the head at a comfortable angle and had a great shave. The shaver body seems very durable and the travel case will protect the foils sufficiently on the road. The design fits well in your hand and if held correctly, has non-slip surface rubber where you need it. Right now this is a good value and I will continue to update as I use it. I highly recommend!

This is an excellent shaver. Having purchased the series 7 twice before, I can clearly say that the series 8 is a far better decision. If you are thinking of the series 7, skip it for the series 8 which does a far better job as a shaver. Slightly more pricy, shaving is far more efficient and at a lower price than the flagship series 9. Many reviews seem to concur with this. Great shave, excellent battery life and included moustache trimmer. My single biggest gripe is no usb charging. It is absurd that such sophisticated shavers still require a dedicated proprietary charger. This means carrying another charger when travelling. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a great shaver with good price.

We bought this for an early Father's Day gift for my Dad. I read him the directions as he's vision impaired, being sure to point out that the directions say to expect a break-in period of about three weeks. The day after he got the razor, he called and told me that it was the best razor ever! It gave him a close shave and was really easy to use! No break-in period necessary. He also liked the quality of the razor. Solid. Highly recommend!

I’ve had a Braun 3 series for years, but the screen split after three months and gave me several surprise cuts on my face. So I decided to spend a little more (okay, a lot more) with the Series 8. I was a little apprehensive because the reviews were good, but not stellar. I have to say this is the best electric shaver I have ever had, and the closest shave I’ve ever gotten. The only reason I’m not giving it five stars is because it does not come with a cap. It does come with a case, so I keep it in there, but I would also like to have a plastic cap that protects the blades and the screen when not in use like the series 3 has. But that being said, I highly recommend this razor. The trimmer works really well too.

La série 8 de Braun est nettement plus avantageuse.
Ce modèle est définitivement plus intéressant que la Série 5 que j'avais auparavant, quoique mon rasoir série 5 a duré plus de 10 ans. La série 8 possède un processus de nettoyage automatisé qui est fort apprécié et la tête de rasage est beaucoup plus confortable. Bref, c'est un modèle avec une plus value vraiment intéressante.

Je l’utilise tout les jours, et honnêtement le meilleur rasoir électrique que j’ai testé.La station de nettoyage et de recharge est particulièrement satisfaisante.Le rasage est propre et doux, plutôt rapide aussi. Je n’ai pas spécialement une barbe drue, mais le série 9 existe pour ça.
Switched Back From Blades, Quality Product
I originally used electric shavers in the 1980's but have been using blades and cream since then. A much better experience these days and no cord when shaving.This shaver is amazing and provides a very close alternative to blades. I like its portability and vanity top charger that automatically turns off upon achieving the full charge level so that the shaver is always ready to go.With the advent of unjust price increases and unsavory straight blade manufacturing origins, I wanted something from an alternative source. I chose manufactured from Germany for its unmatched quality reputation. It is everything I hoped for in an electric shaver. Although not owned by Germans it is a worthy investment for my personal hygiene needs.
