So time for a new one…a new series 8. I really like this new razor…it is quieter, doesn’t pull on my beard as much and I especially like the new cleaning system.

It is VERY difficult to find a REAL electric shaver these days. Almost all brands have penny-pinched their way into what has become a market full of basically "toy" shavers. Weak motors, cheap blades etc. My beard is not "thick" so I don't know how gents with thick heavy beards could use one?Braun is NOT A TOY shaver.Fine engineering and materials and a real, functionning cleaning system. Easy CLOSE shaving that is comfortable and fast!When you are ready (IE: Frustrated & angry enough like I was) to invest in a REAL SHAVER and not a toy, you'll find it was worth every cent.

I previously had a last-generation Series 7 which lasted for about 10 years, so no complaints. When I bought my last shaver, the series 7 was pretty much the top of the line but In the current lineup, the Series 7 is a step down. The Series 8 is pretty close to feature parity with a couple of omissions and one addition. The two omissions are related to the “hygiene”/cleaning modes. In the old Series 7 it had a bar display to tell you how dirty the razor was. Handy if you only wanted to run a cleaning cycle after a few shaves. Now it is a single icon that pretty much comes on after each shave. The old Series 7 cleaning station had three cleaning levels, from quick to extended. The Series 8 has a single cycle. You have to go to the Series 9 to get multi-levels. The additional feature is that now the remaining cutter life is a bar display, so you can see when you are getting close to replacement time where in the old Series 7 it was just an icon that appeared. So that is a nice feature.The series 9 is a significant increase in price and the replacement cutter is twice as expensive so long term costs are also higher. The Series 8 gives a very good shave (better than my old series 7, which was pretty good). I didn’t feel that I was likely to get a significant increase is shaving performance to justify the costMy Series 8 model included the “PowerCase”, which is a travel case with a battery to give you a 50% charge. This razor battery gives up to 4 weeks of shaves so the case gives you up to 6 weeks. I generally don’t travel for more than two weeks so the power case might not be that useful and it is quite large and bulky. I attached a couple of pics to show the difference. This bundle was on sale so it was actually cheaper than the bundle with the normal travel case. If I can find the Series 8 travel for sale by itself I might get it but it actually kinda fits in the old Series 7 travel case with a little coaxing 😉.Overall, I think after a week of use, I am happy with the Series 8.

It comes with the typical gadgets that are typical of relatively high end shavers. Cleaning and charging station, blade for side burns, travel case and so on.I got this because my old Phillips doesn't cut longer beard well (It never did). It had 3 round blade heads. So I wanted to try different blade shape and I am very happy with this shaver. Even if I don't shave for a few days, it cuts longer beard just fine. Vibration itself is really strong and it almost vibrates my skull lol. I need to see how long the blades will hold up.

It's a Braun so obviously it's going to be good. I had a series 5 that lasted 8yrs before it gave out. Hope this one can stand the test. I like the auto clean/charging station which the series 5 didn't have. But no cleaning brush. I guess with this cleaning station it's not needed. We'll see. In 8yrs with the 5 I replaced the head 3 times. Again, we'll see how this 8 holds up. Is the cost of the cost of the cleaning solution worth it? Again, we'll see. Stay tuned!

I purchased this item on 11/16/24. The cleaning station was used perhaps 6 times or less and then stopped functioning. The response from the "Braun Team" is that I need to return both the cleaning station and the razor to them- no address labels provided, my expense, and my time waiting in line at UPS/Fedex/USPS. The razor itself is still working- for now. Braun quality control seemingly no longer exists, and their customer response is absurd. I won't buy Braun again, and I suggest others look at alternatives.

This gives an excellent, close shave. The battery lasts a long time because there is a battery in both the shaver and the case. I don't know how long, as so far I have only used it without charging for a week, but the battery indicator is still at max. Comes with a wet cleaning system you can use every day (but you will need to purchase Braun's cleaning liquid). It gets in close under my nose, and the sideburn trimmer works well.

However after trying the new cutter and still not happy with the shave for my face - i emailed them for my refund but they refused to honor it saying that i bot from a 3rd Party seller on Amz. Imo he/they were negligent in not warning me in advance that there were conditions to the "no problem 100 day money back guarantee". I now out $269 cad for this shaver and accessories which i will never use.

Bolo said the take it bake no problem. Until they sent me an email and complained that I was abusing there return policy, because it was opened. I had to go to the doctor to get a special cream for my face. God forbid I opened and used it as if I was keeping it. How am I supposed to know it would do this, until I tried it first. Beware before you by.
Déçu de la performance
Je dois me raser a tout les jours. J'ai un barbe forte et une peau sensible. Selon les descriptions, ce rasoir serais parfait. J'ai décidé de m'offrir ce rasoir. Je suis vraiment déçu des performances du rasoir. J'aurais pense qu'à ce pris il aurait été plus performant. Je passé plusieurs fois et il me reste toujours des poils. J'ai une sensation de chaleur suis au rasages. Je ne vais pas recommandé ce produit. Le rapport qualité performance et prix ne vaut pas la peine.
