I've always loved the large, clear ice cubes served at high-end bars and restaurants, so I purchased this kit to try to make them at home. This kit really does produce amazing, clear ice cubes! Once you get the hang of it, it is very easy to use. For some reason, the first time I used it, I had a difficult time removing the ice cubes from the silicone tray. However, they came out much easier after the first time using it. This kit is great for making cocktail ice cubes for parties, and friends have all commented on how much they love my ice cubes! One word of caution - since this kit uses directional freezing to make the clear ice cubes, it takes approx. 36 hours to make one batch of cubes, so I would make them ahead of time and seal them in ziplock bags if you will be making a lot of drinks.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I chose this ice cube mold because I had purchased about 5 others and none of them made perfectly clear ice cubes like I wanted. They all came out cloudy and melted extremely fast. I did quite a bit of research on directional freezing and settled on this guy. For the price compared to other molds, this thing is 100% worth it. It makes perfectly clear ice every time and you can even see the impurities left behind during the freezing process. It is a bit of a pain to get the cubes out but it’s a labor of love that is well worth it.

Shapes are good , but they aren’t crystal clear. There are some small bubbles. Despite that I think it’s a good product.

It seems rare these days to have a product that does exactly what it says and works. I followed the instructions and got 8 perfect cubes of clear ice for my old fashioned's's's. No BS. No problem. I've had other silicone trays that make big cubes, but they were basic and cheap, and never claimed to produce clear cubes. I'm very happy with this overall and highly recommend.

Durable cube maker that you will use for years. It does take up a fair amount of space in the freezer, however it makes 8 cubes that are mostly clear (assuming you don't overfill) and great for Burbon. After a few uses, I've found the right amount of water to add so it doesnt bubble or push up out of the mold. I use well water and have had no issues with cloudiness or bubbles. When you take it out of the freezer you have to let it sit a minute or two and then it's easier to get the ice cubes out. I make a bunch for a party and keep in a zip lock bag since it does take up to two days to make the cubes.

Does it make clear ice? Yes. I can't fault it for that. However:It does not come with any paper instructions or documentation. You only have the 4 step instructions in the product description. The first step calls you to "fill with water". However it does not specify an amount of water, and there is no fill line. You just have to guess, and you will find out if you put to much water when you get to step 2 "place the plastic silicone mold". The water will overflow from every orifice of the product.There is no indicator for how frozen the ice is. Again you just have to guess. You will probably make the mistake where you thought it was done, start to remove the silicone sleeve (which is a pain to get out), and water gets everywhere.I don't see this product being durable enough to withstand average use. This is going to remain at the back of my freezer as a novelty for when I have guests over, unless I return it. Also, the clear plastic top does not fit well.

I had previously purchased a different model and brand and absolutely fell in love. Something about clear ice and the fact that it lasts for hours is a lifestyle I find addicting and a lingering hobby in search of the best yet most affordable way. And next to an ice press this is hands down the best tool for the job I’ve come across.With that said, when I purchased this model I saw the sale price and without hesitation jumped on it. Making 16 a round now instead of 8. But when it showed up it was missing the plastic protective sleeve. Or so I thought it was. I would be wrong with that assumption however. It simply isn’t made with one. Which is absolutely shocking. So I washed it and loaded it with water thinking it don’t matter as long as the ice is up to expectations.Well the ice was clear or about 90% was and that is completely acceptable in my book. However pulling the silicone molds out is an absolute nightmare. I have to let it sit at room temp for an hour before I can peel them out. Where as with the other model they simply pull out with ease directly from the freezer. I don’t know if this is due to not having the plastic sleeve, which certainly would provide a small degree of extra insulation. Or if the silicone is a different grade. But I’m not happy at all. For 15 more dollars I could have had a second version of the much higher quality ice box. I’d avoid this in favor of better and available quality. It does the job but it’s certainly made much cheaper and the release issue is to much for my patience. Not to mention if accidentally dropped it would almost certainly bust the exposed foam.

This thing is awesome. I got mostly clear ice on my first try following the instructions in the box using warm tap water. I plan to use the larger bricks of ice at the bottom in coolers this summer!

Does exactly as it says. Foam outside does get pushed out when freezing from the ice but the final results are unreal. Follow the instructions and wait the time. Ended up buying 9 for all my shareholders.
Simple and very effective
The ice cubes are massive and for whisky in large tumblers last for 2 to 3 hours, at ambient temp. Just chill your bottle first. A delightful and too delicious a solution. Chill out

Description says it takes 24-30 hours, the box says 36-48 hours. It's taken minimum 48 hours so far. If you pull it out before it's frozen you've wasted 2 whole days. Some instructions would have been helpful as I'm just guessing as I go along which is annoying. I am yet to get a batch of perfect ice, however the space that should have the cloudy excess has some very clear ice which with an ice pick would be great to use.
