Possibly the best Trek in 30 years!
Star Trek Prodigy was advertised as "Star Trek For Kids" and absolutely nothing could be further from the truth. Can kids watch this and understand what's going on? Absolutely. Does it tackle subjects unsuitable for kids? Not at all. Watching this show is just like watching the original crew's adventures, or those of any of the following crews.This is a *Family* show!The team behind Prodigy have constructed a concise and considered story; broken it into chunks not too complex for any first-time watcher, but meaty enough for seasoned Trekkies and Trekkers to have a good time, and packaged it up with flair and aplomb. I.e. with some fantastic performances, an incredible musical score and jaw dropping art.It's got snappy pacing, suspense, and action to keep you on the edge of your seat, but it in true Star Trek fashion, it doesn't fail to highlight the emotional, moral and ethical implications of events and choices; giving such questions all the weight they deserve, and often leaving you questioning your expectations. On top of that, the narrative of the story is a perfectly sealed loop that leaves a satisfying conclusion, without the need to throw Abrams style 'mystery boxes' out in all directions.This entry is Season One of Two. Both seasons really lean into the more modern long-form story telling style, but individual episodes are relatively self contained and rarely introduce more than one new plot thread to the ongoing narrative, whilst adroitly weaving the episode's own story arc into the grander pattern of threads. This season in particular shows a deft hand at introducing the themes and concepts of the story and the larger Star Trek universe, making it a fantastic First Series and introduction for people less familiar with star trek, whilst its successor builds on those to charge full steam ahead into an even more compelling predicament.

Un très bon moyen d'introduire l'univers de star trek et ses réflexions aux plus jeunes mais pas seulement. De belles références aux séries, des épisodes typiques, de la réflexion, une technique irréprochable et une superbe direction artistique ! Pourvus que la saison deux trouve preneur mais en attendant celle ci se suffit à elle même et mérite largement le détour. Make it so !

Love this show and the blu ray picture quality is fantastic.
Star Trek Prodigy isn't just for kids!
Excellent series featuring superb animation, great music, and clever writing. It may be marketed as a kids show, and on the surface it is, but viewing it as an adult who has also seen Voyager, this series works on more than one level and is very rewarding. The blu ray image also looks just as good as streaming it in (aledged 4k) on Netflix.If you're a Star Trek fan and on the fence, jump in, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
