I bought this product a year ago, so figured it was time to leave a review.If you’re thinking of buying this absolutely take the plunge and buy them. We have had them for a year now with zero issues. App is pretty easy to use and connectivity is simple. You can set timers and a set schedule for the lights to turn on and off. You can customize pretty much everything about them in the app. They have preset templates for the holidays, different themes, whatever. Or if you don’t like any of them you can make your own! You can change the colors, pattern, speed, etc and save your templates.As for durability we haven’t had any issues. They’ve been up since Nov 2023 and have been through hurricane weather, extreme heat, and hail storms and no damage to the box, wiring, or lights. Of course, they have been under the overhang of our room all year so they haven’t been in the direct weather, but they have for sure gotten wet and done fine.They’re a little bit pricey if you don’t get them on sale, but they’re meant to be a permanent decoration/light solution so even if you buy them at full price, they pay for themselves in my opinion.

These are a lot of light for the money , they're not very easily bent to turn corners but can be done. One downside I'll say is you really need a defuser for these lights in my opinion because you can see each individual bulb and it's just too much. Extremely easy to connect and use, You cannot beat govee lights!

The functionality of these light is pretty amazing! Lots of different pre-made color schemes and/or scenes to choose from. These did take a bit to install but I was actually taking my time to make sure they were installed for long term use.Adhesive isn't really the best but the waterproof aspect of it is nice, so in the end you just need to order some hooks or something to keep them up.

The media could not be loaded. I was so sick of climbing up on the roof each Christmas, unrolling the tangled mess of icicle lights and plugging them into messy extension cords. Each year there was always the nagging letters from HOA asking to take down the lights again just a day after New Years. I also wanted to have lighting for all occasions like Halloween, Christmas, New Years or Valentine’s Day. I did my research, compared features and pricing - these lights are exactly what I needed. I control everything from my Govee app, along with the dozens of other Govee lights, plugs sensors and buttons I have. I can time them to come on and off each night, change scenes with the click of a button. I will say that good planning is absolutely necessary for the installation. Make sure to measure everything twice. When installing the lights, find the roll of lights that doesn’t have a connection on one end - that’s the end roll. I started my installation from the end of my run and worked my way back to the outlet I installed under the eaves - one on the west side and one on the east side. I cleaned the eaves with a cloth and rubbing alcohol to prep for the adhesive backing - however more is needed to keep them on long term. I was installing over 200 ft of rope lights on my house, so I wasn’t about to screw in hundreds of plastic clips. Instead used the battery powered Milwaukee cable stapler which made the job a breeze and didn’t damage the strips (it’s designed for stapling electrical wire). About 3 hours work to install it all. While the transformer and button say rated for wet outdoor environments, the elements will still shorten their lifespan, so I installed them inside a plastic water tight junction box and used silicone to seal up the hole for wires. Check out the video for the results - I’m impressed and it’s totally worth it.

Bright, Vibrant, and Effortlessly Easy to Install
I recently purchased the Govee Outdoor LED Strip Lights, and they exceeded my expectations in every way!First, the brightness is incredible. These lights are vibrant and bring a stunning pop of color to my outdoor space, whether it's for a casual evening or a lively gathering. The adjustable brightness feature allows for the perfect ambiance, from a subtle glow to full illumination.The Govee app is remarkable—intuitive, easy to navigate, and packed with features. It offers tons of preset light modes, making it fun to customize the lighting for any occasion, from festive celebrations to relaxing evenings. You can even create your own light patterns, which is a great touch for those who love to personalize their setup.Installation was a breeze. The adhesive backing is strong and reliable, and the included clips provided extra security, even in challenging spots. It’s clear that Govee designed this product with ease of use in mind.Only thing I cant find its a Y connector to extend it with another set which I bought 10 minutes after I installed the first one.
Great lights
I wanted lights that I could leave mounted under my eaves year round. I found these quite easy to install but not having great faith in the 3M tape to hold them in place, decided to use permanent clips. The lights includes some clips but not enough to properly hold the lights so I searched Bolo, tried some that didn't fit despite claiming that they would. Well I found some that do work - almost identical the the ones that came with the lights. They are MECCANIXITY Waterproof LED Strip Mounting Clips Holder Mounting Bracket Support Fixing Clamps Fit 12mm to 14mm Silicone LED Strip Lighting Translucent Pack of 120 for $CDN 20.49 though I am going to buy #6 screws to replace the #4 screws that come with the clips. I took a bit of learning but in the end the lights were fairly simple to program. They are very bright, seem durable, and give very good colour.
Good Product, Great Support
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this product and there was an issue with 1' of leds, I contacted support and they promptly sent a replacement product...amazing! I did the roof above my hot tub with clear panels which diffused the leds nicely. See Video. 100% recommend.
Worth the price
At first I tried a cheaper brand and regretted it. Govee lights are thicker (less delicate, the other brand the wires inside broken when it twisted during installation), the app is easy to set up and use and is very extensive in the selection of themes, colors, and programs. Overall the installation was easy with different mounting hardware for different scenarios. The lights are brighter than what I was used to and expecting. My only complaint is with the two pack the power cord is in the middle, it makes it really awkward to plug. I have to have a cord laying in the middle of my deck, other than that I would’ve given it a five out of five.
