So far, so good. My newly adopted dogs discovered that this is a barrier to the front door, which is important. Easy to pull the shade over, latches well (we start with the top latch and then the bottom - less problematic).Installing it was fine and comes with a hole guide for the wall. Works well, dig protection, width is perfect and clean looking.

I purchased two of these gates. The combination of great quality and an affordable price makes it perfect.Installation was a breeze; I had it set up in no time without any hassle. Overall, this has been great. My dog has some major back leg issues that means he shouldn't be going up the stairs. But he still insists that he can and does. This has successfully kept him from going up the stairs on his own.We leave it "unlocked" so it is easy to open and close as we need, and also allows our cat to push through underneath it, which she seems to love doing. Luckily my dog is too scared to try this himself, as he could also easily fit since he is about the same size as the cat. So note that it is easy for pets to get under it, especially if left unlocked. This works well in our particular situation, but that will likely not be the case for most people who are looking to purchase this. They do provide a suction cup and hook setup you can add to the center bottom to help keep this from happening. But that only helps if you have non-carpeted floors and don't plan to walk through the gate very often...The install was pretty easy, especially with the provided screw hole templates. We lucked out and were able to screw directly into some studs, so we didn't need to use the provided anchors. They do provide extra anchors and screws, which is super nice. It is also pretty easy to open/close. It can be a bit tricky to catch both hooks when closing it, but that seems to get a bit easier the more you use it/get used to it.The one complaint I have is about how much the hooks stick out. We had to put it inside the opening of the stairs and because of that the hooks have to be placed in a way that causes them to stick out their entire length vs laying flush to the wall. Not a huge deal, and it is an "issue" specific to how we had to install it. But I am a bit worried one will get caught on something and break off. Luckily, no issues with that so far.Other than that one "complaint", it has been great. We actually have a second one that we plan to install at the top of the stairs to keep our dog from going down the stairs when he is up there. We just haven't gotten around to installing it yet.

I bought a retractable mesh gate to use at the bottom of our stairs for our german shepherd as we don't want him going upstairs when unsupervised, and while it looks nice and saves space, the overall performance has been just average. The gate was relatively easy to install, but getting it level and tight enough to feel secure took some trial and error. Once set up, it functions as intended, but it doesn’t feel as sturdy as a traditional gate. The mesh flexes quite a bit if leaned on, and I wouldn’t trust it to hold up against a strong push from a toddler or large pet. The retracting mechanism is smooth most of the time, but occasionally it gets stuck or doesn't retract fully, which can be frustrating when you're trying to move quickly. If you're looking for maximum durability or have an especially curious kid or energetic dog, you might want to consider sturdier options.Overall we will be keeping it since our dog doesn't typically mess with gates, it’s decent for light-duty use, but not the most confidence-inspiring solution for high-traffic or high-risk areas.

The easiest and best installation instructions I've ever seen.It would be hard to properly measure and mount for different brackets on opposite sides of an opening but they have you covered. There are bracket mounting strips that you can use and they have sticky tape on the back already so they attach easily, when you're done they peel right off and leave no residue and the installation is perfect. There is a quick installation guide and a larger more thorough installation guide that is very large and easy to see and read. And they give you almost twice as many screws and drywall anchors as needed so when you do drop one or can't find it it's not a problem.Installation was so easy and such a joy. I was so happy going through the installation it makes my entire Outlook of the product better.Once installed, easy to use. Locks and unlocked easily. Slides with ease. Enough of a barrier to keep kids in the dog on the side they're supposed to be on, but not so easy to climb over. It's a strong mesh, it breathes and moves air easily it's fairly firm, and it's see through but unlike a permanent or metal barred gate can't support you in order to climb over it. Easy enough to step over for adults.At first I was looking for something and thought the price might be a little high but it is worth every penny

The wide retractable baby gate is a great choice for blocking off large openings without taking up much space. It’s easy to install and smoothly retracts when not in use, which makes it less bulky than a traditional gate. The mesh is sturdy yet lightweight, and it holds up well against curious little ones and even pets. It does require using both hands to lock and unlock, so it’s not as quick as a swing-open gate, but the clean look and flexibility for wide spaces make it worth it.
